I had been primary caregiver for my husband for months before I asked for help. I reached out to Synergy. The caregivers who came were eager to help in whatever way they could. They cared for my husband while also caring for me. My experience was limited as my husband passed away very soon after they came. Until he was gone, I did not realize how exhausted I was and what a toll being the primary caregiver can be. I would encourage anyone who is faced with being the caregiver to seek as much help as possible. Synergy can provide that assistance, and my experience with them was very positive.

I only have them come twice a week. Primarily, the picking up and cleaning up after me is extremely helpful. They do laundry as well.
They are dependable, trustworthy, and caring.

The care isn't helping my life. It would be better to have two people come two hours in the morning and then two hours in the evening. I have 12 hour shifts, but I don't need that.
I need split times, and they don't want to give me split times. I don't need someone to come and look at me all day. I'm paying a lot of money for someone to sit and look at me. I just need someone to come in the morning to give me my breakfast and then again later in the day to give me dinner and get me into bed.

There is a tremendous impact. I had a difficult situation and they helped me. I think they are wonderful.
The first thing that clicked with me was how easy it was to talk to the manager. She listened and wasn't interrupting me.

She really liked her caregivers. They were there for safety, as my loved one was falling at night. They were there from 8 at night to 8 in the morning.
I really liked the girl who was really helpful on the phone. I'm out of town, so it was difficult to handle it all away from my loved one. They were very helpful getting me through all the loops and hoops of long-distance.

It was very helpful because I didn't have to worry when I left here about what kind of hands he was in.
Becky was wonderful. She had a lot of experience. I couldn't get Jim to take a shower or shave, and neither could other caregivers from other agencies. Becky just took charge and he would do it. He was happy about it. I was dumbfounded!

I didn't need a ton of help to start with. I couldn't get out easily, so I just needed someone to be available to take me to doctor's appointments. That was the most help, but everything else I could have worked around.
They did a relatively good job overall in helping me do things.

They were pretty much on time and they were all really friendly and they went out of their way to do extra work at the house.

They did do something that I needed done for my husband because I couldn't handle him on my own at the time. However they were not self-directed I had to be telling them what to do.
I wouldn't recommend them because they did not educate their workers.

Right now, they only come one day a week, but he needs someone every day. We're having to go through the 90 day grace period with our insurance before we can schedule them more. They make sure that he has good hygiene, they do light housekeeping, and they make sure he has meals.
They call and check to see how things are going and if there's anything they can do. You can contact them, and they're willing to help.

It was very easy to call whenever we needed transportation. I only had to call the agency and give them a time and date. The caregiver was very helpful.
They seemed to be pretty carefree, and they had great transportation.

They had one particular caregiver that bonded well with my mother. She went above and beyond in terms of picking up the ball, cleaning the house, fixing meals for my mother, and making sure that she was taking care of her medication when she needed to, even though that wasn't part of her role.
They were responsive when I needed to increase services. There was another service that I contracted with initially, but they couldn't come through with staffing people, and SYNERGY came through for me. They were responsive with increasing care and they hired more people.

I like how they had an introduction to them. They said that they thought they had someone who would match well with me. There is someone there to help me to prepare breakfast when I am fatigued and sick in the morning. Having someone be there and they take care of me on Thursdays and days I don't feel well. Over the course of a week, it has made me feel reassured that my home will be taken care of and I look forward to having them come.
