About This Community
Home Instead is a non-medical provider of personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, incidental transportation and even Alzheimer's and dementia care. Our CAREGivers encourage, assist, and stimulate our clients in a variety of activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. All of these services allow a senior to stay HOME INSTEAD for a longer period of time.
Home Instead - Caregiver Skills
Safety training on home safety, avoiding injury and falls, preventing strain and pain, safety in the kitchen, cautious cleaning, safe driving, outdoor safety hazards, and disease protection and prevention.
Basic training on emergency situations including stroke, falls and fractures and sudden illness, communication tips including communicating to those with dementia or Alzheimer's, activities for seniors to engage in, mealtime preparations, housekeeping tips, signs of abuse, and tips on reducing caregiver stress.
Advanced training on understanding senior illnesses and conditions, depression in seniors, caregiver stress, in-home exercise for older adults, making mealtime fun, communication tips with the senior, their family, and the caregiver's franchise office.
Activity training including reminiscing activities, modifying activities, activities in facilities, adapting activities for those with impairments, different types of engaging activities for older adults such as gardening, mind builders, and crafts and hobbies, and getting a senior involved in the community in places like senior centers, worship services, volunteering and errands.

The Home Instead Agency cares about their clients. They match the care-giver with the needs and personality of the client. The staff are personable and dependable - always prompt. Our sitter was willing to do light housework, involving our person, in order to provide age-appropriate activities of daily living.

The Staff provides care for my mother during the week, during my work time. They will wash her clothes, and help bath her and dress during the week. Will make sure that she is not hungry and will work with her by asking her everyday questions.

It was a blessing from heaven that connected me with this wonderful company. They provided 24 hour care for an ill friend of mine for 6 months. Their staff was always on time and were very involved with the individual they were taking care of. Many wonderful people work for this company as evidenced by how many of them attended my friends funeral when he passed away. A job well done by a great company.

My mother fell and broke her hip and had to have care after her Rehabilitation. At the beginning Home Instead furnished help during the day. But after a short time she had some heart problems we had to have 24 hour care. The care givers were great and they were very good to my mother. I never worried about her because I witnessed the care she recieved from them. Home Instead always had someone there. If one of the care givers couldn’t get there the one on duty stayed until they could get someone there.My Mother was treated with respect and she got along with them very well.. If something happened to go wrong it was corrected immediately.I used Home Instead for four years and I never got upset with them. I would call them to take of Me if I needed it.

Home Instead is prompt in getting you a sitter and letting you know who it is. They are kind and understanding and very patient. They arrive on time and work with the person the entire time. Fixing meals, helping with toilet, dressing, and talking with them. They were so responsive the first time we called them. We had a death in the family and called at 3:00 pm to get a sitter that night. They had someone there by 8:00 pm. They came out for an evaluation the next day so they could match the sitters with the patient's needs. Very good experience with Home Instead.

This service has been hired to be with my brother who has lung cancer. The caregivers are with him 24 hours a day. They run errands for him, see to his meals, provide companionship for him. The staff is always on time, They are very responsive to requests or suggestions. The agency is very flexible in arranging schedules, adjusting to changes and replying very quickly to calls.

After a fall, my 95 year old uncle wanted to remain independent in his home. After several interviews, we elected Home Instead. They took details about his daily activities past and present and matched him with caregivers that would stimulate his recovery and also help with daily activities. His caregiver was a perfect match. She assisted in daily household activities, but more importantly, kept him active. She constantly found things for him to do whether getting out to explore new areas, gardening, running errands and even some yoga! Yes , yoga!. They really had wonderful bond and he thought of her like a daughter. Home Instead was also very responsive to last minute schedule changes. When my Uncle was hospitalized, they helped with care indviduals to come to the hospital and assist our family with his care. It was wonderful being able to leave him, and know that he was in good hand. I cannot be more thankful to each of the Home Instead staff members that helped him so that he as able to remain home and remain active. Such a Blessing. Thank You to each member of the Home Instead Staff.

Cousin Dianne was cared for by two stellar caregivers from Home Instead for almost 4 years. Sharon and Shannon contributed immeasurably to Dianne's quality of life. They helped with Activities of Daily Living in a genuinely caring way that also provided emotional support and friendship for Dianne during difficult times. When she needed more care and then 24-hour care, more Home Instead caregivers were scheduled to help. The Client Support Manager was excellent and I could talk to her about any issues. She came out to Dianne's apartment for care conferences, strategized with me on level of care questions, consulted with hospice, and was always there for advice and counsel. This was invaluable, since I was coordinating care from out of state. Everyone at the Home Instead office was also responsive and caring. I highly recommend Home Instead without reservations.

We needed sitters 24/7 and we had several different sitters and all were caring, and professional and acted like family when the family was not at the hospital. Most kept us informed of any changes that happened with our Mother. You'll never know how pleased and grateful my brother, sister and I were with Home Instead. I had to keep extending for help and Janet the scheduler was so kind and understanding of our situation. There is a high place in Heaven for all of these people.

We feel so blessed that our son knew of this company Home Instead. We called them as my mother was leaving the hospital and they jumped into action to help us. The caregivers from Home Instead were kind, efficient, timely and very helpful . They provided Top quality care and attention for my mother. I would highly recommend them to all. Home Instead Senior Care is real nice. I had a caregiver the week after I asked for one. The caregiver bathes my mom, does some light housework, and cooks some of the meals. She's super nice, and she's perfect. She's just right there for them and does everything we had asked her to do.

Angela from Home Instead takes good care of my husband and always has such a great attitude. She is always neat and is comfortable with taking care of the house as well as his every need. I am a very proud to have her in my home. She is really wonderful

I have a caregiver form Home Instead 6 days per week. I know that no one is perfect. However, I want and require cleanliness from my caregiver above everything else -- be it hands, hair and clothing while working in the kitchen and elsewhere.

My Mother's request was to remain in her home during her later years. I was able to fulfill her wishes with the help and assistance of Home Instead. It is not easy to trust your loved ones daily care to someone else. Private sitters and relatives eventually run their course but daily care must continue. After employing Home Instead, my family found the consistent care my Mother deserved. Each an every sitter from Home Instead exceeded our expectations. Exceptionally well trained, courteous, respectful, punctual, caregivers were provided each time. I highly recommend this exceptional professional company to anyone needing in home healthcare.

For the past 18 months, these wonderful, caring folks have looked after my wife, who has FTD (dementia), so I can go to church, shopping and other errands, and even on overnight business trips without worrying a bit about her care. They go above and beyond expectations on every visit. The office staff responds promptly and cheerfully to any request for changes to the schedule or additional visits, even on short notice. I couldn't do without them.

After several interviews with in-home care companies, Home Instead was a breath of fresh air. They seemed genuinely interested in the well being of my grandmother. In the interview, the staff member asked me all the relevant questions that her care givers would need. My grandmother absolutely loved the first person they sent over. She has a trust issue with strangers, but the lady they sent was the sweetest, most compassionate and attentive person we've had around her in years. To say that my grandmother and her care giver have an amazing relationship would be an understatement. She is a very stubborn woman and the care giver has gotten her to do things that her own family can't get her to do(such as remember to take her medicines that she "forgets"). Home Instead is an amazing company and I would have no problem recommending them to any one who is in need of a home health aide or even a companion. This company is absolutely a blessing!
