We were visiting somebody at Gwynedd Estates and we went to her apartment; it was very nice. This lady was more independent, like she drove, and it was more like a one-bedroom apartment. She brought her own furniture, and she had a little sliding door to go outside if she wanted to. What I saw was very nice, she's very comfortable there, she enjoys it.

Gwynedd Estates was very well-run and nice. Everybody was hospitable, but it is a CCRC, and the entrance fee is not refundable. The units were also rather small, so I wasn't interested.

Gwynedd Estates is very nice, and I am very impressed with what they do. The rooms come in all sizes. I know a wealthy couple who bought two units and put them together, and it is very impressive. I also saw a smaller room which I myself could not live in. I like the fact that you can get what you want depending on your ability to pay. The staff is very good and helpful, and they care about the people. The guard at the front gate is always friendly and nice. Whenever I go there to visit, I do not see a lot of interaction among the residents. The residents there tend to isolate themselves. I was able to try the food at the bistro, and it was fine.

My grandparents lived at Gwynedd Estates for almost 20 years, and considered it one of the greatest decisions they ever made. The staff is not only friendly and professional, but took an earnest interest in their lives and well being. In my grandfather's final weeks, they could not have been more caring and helpful. Towards the end of his life, we literally saw them as fellow family members and will never forget the incredible job they did to make my grandfather's last days so comfortable. The on-site hospice staff spared nothing in their care for him, and when he passed they continued to support our family through our period of grief. At the funeral for both my grandparents, members of the facility came to pay their respects. When it is time for my wife and I to find a comfortable place to retire, we will no doubt do everything in our power to move in to Gwynedd.
