I've been to Marquette a couple of times, and my parents visited as well. They let us see a couple of apartments. They did not let us into the common areas because of COVID though. It's a huge facility, and it had everything you could possibly need. I only met with the office staff so far. We had lunch in one of their dining rooms, and I think we looked at three different floor plans. They had an indoor pool and some other areas where tenants could go. They couldn't show us those because of COVID and we couldn't mix with the residents there. The building was in very good shape.

Marquette is a beautiful community. I like that they have graduated living facilities. I'm starting out in an independent apartment, but when the time comes, I can move into an assisted living unit and finally into a full-scale nursing facility on the same property. It is also close to major shopping, so it is a great location. The staff members are very professional and very nice. They have their own chef. If you don't want to cook, you could go to one of their dining rooms. I had lunch there, and the food was excellent. They have all kinds of social activities and a gym. They provide plenty of covered parking. If you don't drive, they have buses that would take you shopping. That's especially nice for people because they are able to go to church and shopping.

I was impressed with Marquette. It looked like a country club, but it was too expensive. The rooms were very nice, modern, and cosmopolitan. The dining room looked nice, but I didn't like the fact that men had to wear jackets. They had a workout room facility which I thought was interesting and had a nice pool. It was very modern.

The Marquette was near St. Vincent’s Hospital on the northwest side of town. It’s probably the most expensive place and had more of a country club atmosphere. You have to wear a dinner jacket to come to dinner if you’re a man. All of their apartments were nice. While they allowed pets, it didn’t seem like it was something they were thrilled about, and my cat and dog are important to me. In all of the levels of care that I looked at there, they took good care of their residents, but it was the most expensive choice. It’s in a neighborhood that I couldn’t feel comfortable going out in, but it is a changing area. I just didn’t get as warm a feeling from the relationship between the staff and the residents as in other places.

My wife is in Marquette Manor right now. The staff is helping her to get exercise so that she can get back on her feet. She has a walker, and they are helping her do that. The rooms are nice. They have bingo, the other day my wife went out to eat at one of the places they go to, and they have several other things. The food is good, and my wife likes it.

My family found Marquette Manor to be the perfect fit for my 96 year old aunt. This community has so much to offer seniors wanting to live independently, but with a minor need for assistance. A bit on the pricey size, but well worth the expense, the cottages along with all of the amenities make us feel much more comfortable with her living in this community. There is an on site bank, laundry facility, grocery store, and salon. Transportation is provided for larger grocery trips, doctor's appointments, casual fun and entertainment, other communities, and just about any needs or wants for travel. The unit also is inclusive of cable connection, light housekeeping, and basic utilities. The staff is very friendly, polite, and supportive to the families. I recall during a visit one of the residents had passed on, everyone was overcome by grief. The resident's daughter was filled with agony and sadness; she cried uncontrollably for what seemed like hours. There was a particular staff member who had taken the time to spend with the resident during her final days creating a scrapbook of sorts to share with her family upon her passing. When it was presented to the daughter she cried harder, but was able to express how much that little detail meant to her. This is the type of facility that offers “that little details with such an amazing qualified staff.
