The Gardens at Marysville is where I want to go when I need a place. I liked it, it's a beautiful place. The staff who gave the tour was very friendly and very knowledgeable, she introduced us to other staff and was very helpful. The room we saw was very nice and spacious, and the maintenance seemed fine. We didn't eat any food there but their dining area was beautiful. They also had a beautiful outdoor space and they said they had activities, though we didn't witness any at the time. I was very impressed with what I saw, it's well-maintained. And even though it's in a semi-busy area of town, it's surrounded by greenery, it's quiet, lovely, and has plenty of parking.

We visited Brookdale Marysville and they were awesome. We love the staff and the dining room was super nice. They have menus and you can choose your food. It was a very friendly place. The executive director was in touch with me a lot. They also sent out a nurse to assess my mom, but she wasn't a good fit for the community. She got ahold of me again and they tried a couple of times to re-assess her. The residents were really clean and dressed well.

I'm not very happy with Brookdale. My mother didn't get a shower for 21 days in March because she had a young male caregiver, and they addressed it. It went back in April, she had gone a week without shower, so I took over the shower schedules, but I was also doing her laundry. Last Mother's Day, nobody went in her room for two days, and the staff was gone for the weekend. The staff was very caring, but they didn't have enough to provide care to my mom. She went down for ice cream and listened to the music they have. She liked it there and her friends were there, but most of her friends moved out.

Brookdale Marysville was a mile away from me. I was very impressed with it. It had nice people. It was a nice facility. They gave us lunch, and the food was great. I didn't see the room, but other than that, they were great. When I walked through the door, it smelled wonderful; that's what caught my attention immediately. The receptionist was really nice to us, and the gal that we talked to gave us information, and was very nice as well. The wait staff was really nice. They had activities. They had music nights. However, my mother was blind and couldn't do a lot. I thought it was scary for her because I thought the floors were all upper levels. She was in a walker and blind. She would really need someone to walk her down to her meals and stuff. I would live in Brookdale Marysville, if I would need something like that.

Brookdale were wonderful, and we’re thrilled with everything. They were willing to do intake and all of the moving in arrangements long distance. They were able to provide me with a nurse from Brookdale in South Carolina, Georgia to do all of the intake to be able to just get off the airplane and bring my dad in. The staff is very competent and caring that they made a very difficult transition go smoothly.

They work really hard with him since he got back from being so ill from the infection. They worked really hard to where he can sit up on his own now. He is unable to walk yet at this time; he is wheel chair and bed bound. But they've got him motivated pretty much that he is willing to come home now. The food is very delicious; sometimes they will cook two or three different things. He just gets physical therapy that comes in. The place is very safe. They are really friendly, and it is a nice-sized home. He is very well-cared for at Brookdale Marysville.

My brother has been at Brookdale Marysville in a studio apartment for four months, and they are very friendly and professional. They have good activities, but he can't participate in most of them. They call me every few days. We're in close communication. I've eaten a couple of meals there, and the food is actually very good. They're right by a shopping center, and the grounds are very nice and neat. They just remodeled the whole inside, so there is all new carpet, paint, and furniture. It looked beautiful.

Emeritus seemed very nice and clean. The staff was very kind and helpful, and she gave me the information that she could give me because they were in transition, and she had a lot of paperwork. She mentioned a few activities and showed me a calendar. We visited the rooms, and they were very nice.

Merrill Gardens is a good facility for someone who doesn't have Alzheimer's. The staff is really nice to my mom but I wouldn't recommend that anyone who has dementia or Alzheimer's go there. The one thing that I was a little bit disappointed in was that they advertise themselves as being a dementia facility and I don't really think they're set up for something like that because it's not a secured place. Anyone can wander away from there and you would not know. It's not a gated community but they advertise it as being a dementia facility. They can get away with that because dementia has different classifications. I got her out of there because there were a couple of times where she actually left the premises and the only reason I knew is because some friends told me about it. She knew it was Sunday, the day for church, but she didn't wait for us to come pick her up. She just walked there on her own and someone called us up and told us that she was there and the place didn't even know that she had left. If you need more care, they do have those services but for each additional thing, they charge you more money. It just was not a place for her to be.

I recently visited my grandpa at Merrill Gardens of Marysville. Overall the visit was very pleasant and enjoyable. When my grandma had passed away a year ago it was really unfortunate that we had to put him in an assisted living home and we were very uneasy about it. After visiting with him at Merrill Gardens I am assured that he is in good hands. The staff was very warming, welcoming, and helpful. You could tell they truly cared. One reason I believe this is because they wanted to get to know the patients family. They asked questions such as your name where you live and what relation I was to him. As well as telling me about his progress in the home. Overall the facility was clean. They kept his living space up and I checked to make sure he had everything he needs in his room. The bathrooms were clean and didn't smell bad. So to sum it up I was very pleased to know that my Grandpa is in a good home with nice people and a clean environment.

My great grandmother was cared for here in which I helped to pay for. I loved that she was close, almost right down the street from my home. I felt that she was very safe there as I know places like this are always in the news for stealing money or treating the people very poorly, but my great grandma was in the best of hands. She was always clean and smelled nice when I came over, and her room was always clean. She never once had a bed sore which I had found on her at the last place she had lived at. I also noticed she gained weight which was good because they had gotten her to eat. She was in her late 90's and weighed less than her age and was scaring the family as she would not eat and was getting very sick. They got her to eat and to be back in the fight for life. Also I had found out her cat she had had since her husband died that was almost 20 had died and a nurse bought her a kitten which I thought was above and beyond. I was very pleased that my great grandmother was so loved and taken care of. I go over to see her at 3 times a week, and it is truely like a second family there. I am glad they are so nice and make the people staying there have a last few nice years. I am very happy they are so close and would not take her anywhere else.
