A Resident's Grateful Daughter
For the past 10+ years, I have been overseeing the care of my 89-year-old mother, who has multiple physical disabilities, and Potomac House is the third assisted living facility she has lived in. Without hesitation, I can say that Potomac House’s assisted living management/ownership is hands down the best I’ve ever worked with. They are highly responsive and caring, truly want to do what is best for the resident, and are open to suggestions for improvement. Since new ownership took over this year, staffing has stabilized and the quality of the staff has increased significantly. The tie with Paragon Home Care is also a definite plus, providing additional resources and support, as needed. Many improvements have already been implemented at Potomac House by the new ownership, with many more in the works, and I've observed the positive impact these changes have made on my mother's quality of life. Potomac House is a family—of residents, of staff, and of families--and care of the resident is the priority. For those who need a lot of assistance and personal attention in a caring environment, Potomac House is the place to be.

My sister stayed at The Potomac House. It wasn't quite what we thought it would be. They were able to handle her feeding tube, but they tended to be late with the medications. All the other residents had dementia, so the staff definitely had their hands full. Everybody seemed nice, pleasant, and friendly. There was a little too much personal information shared by the staff about the way the place was run which we didn't find very professional. My sister had a private bedroom with its own bathroom. The place was a two-story home with an elevator because of the residents' incapacity. They offered meals.
