About This Community

Caring with H.E.A.R.T.

In 1983, the Sameer and Virginia Tahboub family envisioned a new level of specialized, service-oriented long-term care for seniors in Charlottesville, Virginia. Since the inception of RoseWood Village Assisted Living & Memory Care 35 years ago, Virginia and Sameer Tahboub have been operating on the Guiding Light Principle of Caring with H.E.A.R.T.™, which is made up of a set of Core Values (Honesty, Excellence, Accountability, Residents First, and Teamwork) that help guide the team to provide the highest level of trusted care and services to their residents and their families every day.

OUR VISION OF LIFESTYLE

RoseWood Village Assisted Living communities are warm and charming with a reimagined Main Street style that truly feels like home. Our dedicated, welcoming RoseWood family of well trained and friendly team ensures that our residents receive personalized, stimulating and attentive care where they will enjoy life and thrive.

Our residents find that friendships bloom amid the daily activities that engage them with our team and their new neighbors in their small-town home. It is a place of fun, joy and laughter, just like home should be.

Our distinctive, Main Street design allows our family of residents to enjoy small town amenities like an appointment at a beauty or barbershop, a visit to a cafe, or a relaxing show in the movie theater. Residents read or engage in group discussions in the library, enjoy restaurant-style dining with background music, or take a nature walk in an outdoor garden. Other choices for our residents include a pleasurable visit to the spa, an invigorating workout in the fitness center, or a refreshing dip in the pool.

The village atmosphere is enhanced with themed gathering venues. Take a visit abroad to our Out-of-Africa Lounge, or experience uniquely American cultures in our French Quarter and Key West Lounges.

RoseWood Village is where we have made assisted living comfortable, lively and inspiring.

We believe it’s never too late to live happily ever after.

RoseWood Village at Greenbrier is a very convenient location for shopping, churches, and medical services. It is a very good location. The facility seemed to be in good shape. The staff seemed to be knowledgeable, and they were very helpful in answering my questions. I had a good visit, and I learned a lot. The availability is limited, so I think the issue is to try to get on the waitlist as quickly as possible. The facility itself is a good one. I went into the dining room and walked all over the facility, but I didn't try my food. The rooms are small and are limited to studios or one-bedroom apartments. They were renovating. They only had one that was available, and people are moving into it today. They were doing some work like painting and repairs. They were convenient to elevators, and they were spacious. I thought they were fine. The staff was very knowledgeable, very helpful, and was able to answer all the questions that I had. The staff was very receptive to feedback.

I toured the RoseWood Village at Greenbrier and I liked that community. I was able to meet one staff member there. The rooms that I saw there were adequate. I saw that in the different common areas, there were groups of people having snacks, talking, and playing cards. And a lot of people had their doors open and were visiting. The place itself was clean and the building was well-maintained. It's a very nice facility.

After three years as a resident of Rosewood Village, we were so sad to leave! The only reason we did was a move out of State nearer family. The facility is lovely and "home-y" and doesn't feel like an "institution". The staff was friendly and caring. They made a point of working with the family and the resident. And I was so impressed with the care given during the height of the Covid epidemic and the very minimal spread of the virus!! The food and dining facilities were super. The residents are able to meet & greet at tables, and tablecloths make it attractive. Activities of some sort were available every day, including music, shopping opportunities, holiday and birthday parties. In short, we would still be there if we could, and still feel part of the RoseWood Family!

RoseWood Village at Greenbrier was a very nice place. It's a beautiful location. The building is very nice, and they have all kinds of amenities. The apartment that they showed me was nice. It's an excellent-looking place. The ones I met with were very nice. I did not taste the food, but I smelled it cooking, and it smelled really good. When I commented that something smells good, one of the residents said lunch was delicious. The layout was well thought out. The place looked very clean. There were no smells other than that delicious food cooking.

I was there at RoseWood Village at Greenbrier on a Saturday, and I know a lot of places have less staff on the weekend. It impressed me that it looked as good as it did. The dining hall was spread out more than six feet between tables, so it was a very roomy situation. They only have a total of 90 residents, so I think that in itself is helpful. The other thing that was comforting to us is knowing that as my dad was approaching the end of life, that they had a specific protocol for end of life. They allow people in even if they needed to quarantine. They had not had a Covid case in over a year. I like the affordability of the quality. There was another facility that was almost double, but I didn't see that kind of discrepancy. I think that having different levels of care based on the needs of your loved ones as they go in, is a fair system.

I went to RoseWood Village at Greenbrier. They were a tad more versatile than the other places. Their plans were like as an example, you could select whether you wanted laundry service or whether you didn't want it, you wanted your family to do it, or you want to do it yourself, and you may have that option if you're capable. So they had a little more flexibility. That was nice. They had different types of rooms. They had like a studio and a one-bedroom depending on -- because the money went up accordingly. The studio was pretty much you walk in and have a living area and a bed space in that same room area and then a separate bathroom and a little mini kitchenette with a microwave, and so it was pretty much like most of the others. The staff was very knowledgeable. The girl that was supposed to take us around was out sick and it was like one of the director-type people that took us. I ended up knowing his family. He's married to the daughter of the owner of the firm. So he knew what was going on, was very knowledgeable, very helpful, and gave us plenty of time.

I went to RoseWood Village at Greenbrier and had a very nice tour. I saw the assisted living and the staff. The executive director happened to be my tour guide and was was extremely pleasant (both to me and to the residents that I saw). They seemed very dedicated to their job of caring for older people and making their experience pleasant. The executive director was very concerned about having a feeling of a family-type situation there, and they worked very hard to create that for the residents. I saw the dining room and their menu. It was spacious and well-lit. The facility itself was very clean and very organized by their principles. It was just a little overly decorated to suit me, but they believe that the residents enjoy that.

Very nice and spacious rooms. Provides multiple secure levels of care based on the resident's needs. Frequent activities were posted and I attended one or two with my grandmother. The staff are all very sweet, providing consistent care whether family was present or not, and all of them called my grandmother by her nickname. Great visiting hours and options (like providing meals for visiting family members upon request, holiday meals you could attend for very cheap, etc).

RoseWood Village Assisted Living at Greenbrier Drive is extremely clean. It's like a Hilton, or a Marriot going inside, it has beautiful flowers, and it's very nicely furnished. The rooms are beautiful, you can furnish it with your own furniture from home, and if not, they have nice furniture. It's nicely furnished, nicely carpeted with tiled floors, it's clean, and has no bad smells. The staff is excellent and very attentive. It's really good, but it's very expensive. The food is great, not institutional at all, and the dining room is beautiful. They have movie nights, and all kinds of activities (too many to list).

The staff who assisted me at Rosewood Village was a nice guy and very helpful. The rooms and the apartment were very nice. Before they admitted him, they painted it and cleaned it all up. It’s got a really nice updated bathroom, and the window looks out over a terrace or a nice garden area. He has got a very nice room, and it’s kind of an open kitchen; it looks out into the community gathering room and the television room, and it’s decorated very nicely. You can eat at the table, and you can also come up to the kind of wrap around counter. They have an activity schedule, and they have a good number of support personnel to help out with the residents. The security is top notch, and the memory care unit is in a locked area. You have to have a code to get out. You need to code to get on to the elevator, and there are a number of support people always have their eyes on the residents.

Overall, the experience was good. My grandmother appeared to be well taken-care of. There were several residants who were very ill and if you were not familiar with the environment it would be uncomfortable for the average person. However it was clean, and the staff was very kind.
