We went to The June. It was a very convenient tour. They were very helpful in letting us know everything that was going on. My friend enjoyed the place. She thought it was very nice and very clean. She loved the one-bedroom apartment, but she decided that she just did not want to move into a senior home at this time, or even look anymore, but this was one area that I personally would put high on my list. Three meals a day are provided, and snacks. They have a private room, and if you have company or family that comes to visit, you could be in there and have meals there together. I thought it was a very nice area. They're very helpful and they would help with medications and things like that. Seeing some of the residents there, and the camaraderie among the ladies walking in the hallways together, it just seemed like a very nice place. The staff during the tour was extremely nice, knowledgeable, gave us a lot of information, showed us around, and pointed out things that we would not even think about asking. She just made it very enjoyable. We only looked at the one-bedroom with a small living room and a kitchenette. It was more than enough. To us, it would make room for her queen bed and everything, so it would be really good. During the walkthrough they brought some dogs for people to play with and just cuddle. They also showed us the area where they could play card games or just sit and talk, and the little areas or patio areas where they could sit and just talk or just enjoy the breeze. If I needed to be somewhere, I would definitely choose that area. I basically just saw one entrance, and it was hard for me to think that that was the main entrance. I totally went around the building, and then I realized that that's the only entrance, so that must be the main entrance. I was looking for like a big entrance or something that marked it as the entrance.

The June in San Antonio was fine and it looked adequate. I saw their assisted living and the layout seems to be very open and good for people with mobility issues. They have nice wide hallways, good wide doorways, and that sort of thing. I would say their outdoor space is a little lacking but other than that, it was great. The staff who assisted me was great too. They have a dining facility and an in-house physical therapy room, which I thought was really great. They also have some open courtyards, and additional gathering spaces as well as a private dining area for when people bring families in.

I am currently a resident in The June. I have no complaints, it's fine, and I am satisfied. We have bingo three times a week, we take trips to the Walmart, and we have our doctors' appointments. We have a salon, a laundry room, and a game room. The staff are friendly and approachable. The food is not great. It's as homey as can be.

What I liked best about The June was the decor, and the floor plans were nice. However, the ala carte pricing made it quite costly to consider. They weren't lacking on any level. It was just the cost was prohibitive because you were paying item by item for things. The staff was a delight. She was really on top of things, very informative, quite animated in her presentation, and made you very comfortable. It was all top shelf and very nicely done. The surroundings were very serene. It's kind of isolated, so it's very quiet and peaceful.

The June is the newest one of all the places we went to. It's nice. It's very expensive. But considering that The June is so expensive, I didn't think the rooms were that big. I liked the location, they're newer. They did offer amenities, but I don't remember. The layout was nice, the counters inside the resident's rooms were nice. It all depends on the different plans, but I like it. It's just the price because everything doubles. Even if the couple is in the same room it's double the price, which I thought was really expensive because they're charging the same rent for the second person even though they're sharing the room.

Beautiful community. Friendly and caring staff. Entertaining activities.

The June didn't have independent living. The gentleman showed us around, but he agreed that we're not ready for assisted living at this point. It was very nice, it was a very beautiful facility, very pricey though in comparison to the others, and the rooms were very nice and very spacious. The staff was very nice, very knowledgeable, and gave us a good tour. The dining area was nice, and it's in a good location.

My father was a resident there for for about seven months and was hesitant to write a review of the facility because I thought my expectations may be out of line. However after about six weeks in his new facility, I have realized that this facility has some significant issues. First of all--the positive. It's a new(er) facility and the rooms and facility have a nice layout and is maintained nicely. Manny, who is the facilities director does a nice job as well as the gentleman who cleans the rooms each week. Unfortunately that's about where it stops. Some questions or things I wish we would have asked, looked at a little closer, or have done differently: Staff turnover. From the point we looked at the facility to the time we moved dad out, every key position (facility director, nursing director, marketing, dining, etc.) had turned over at least once, most at least two times and one position (marketing) I lost total count of how many people had been in that role and they were on the their third director of nursing by the time dad moved out. Food. Eat in the dining hall multiple times. Eat what the residents eat and stop by unannounced to see what's for dinner (as well as lunch). Don't just look at the menu; it is not necessarily indicative of what is served or what you might expect a dish to be. While I thought my dad was just picky (and he is to a degree), now that he is settled in his new place, there has not been one complaint about food. When he was at at Heritage, complaints were almost daily. And not just "I don't like the food," on many occasions, it was that they had run out of some of the basics (coffee, orange juice, milk, etc.) There also is some significantn inconsistency between shifts, cooks, etc. I contacted the facility director at least twice regarding this but was met with excuses with little improvement. Care. While we were fortunate that dad didn't have a lot of needs from the nursing staff, the few times that he hit the button for help, it was not answered in a timely manner. While we were told during our visit that the button is answered in a specific timeframe, we didn't find this to be the case. The one thing that he needed done once a week was botched to the point that we would work around the director to get it done. Activities. While the activity calendar is plentiful, show up when the activities are supposed to be going on. I believe the calendar is more of a marketing piece than an actual listing of what is actually happening. See if people show up to attend any of the activities and see if they actually happen. Something I wish we would have done. While the Director of the Facility is fairly new and I think her heart is in the right place, I have serious doubts if the place can turn around. I would recommend looking at several facilities and check out the food and activities and even talk to some of the residents and their family to get perspective. While it's never easy making the decision to put your loved one in a facility like this, I would urge you to do your homework and look "behind the curtain." The community fee, which is a couple thousand dollars, is non-refundable, so if you make a mistake, it can a costly one.

My parents-in-law are living in Heritage at Westover Hills. It's a fantastic new facility that offers all kinds of arts and crafts, a computer room, fitness room, laundry room, TV, and movie rooms. They have catered meals, and take your family to doctors' appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays They go on day trips out of the community on the community bus. Quite frankly, it looks like a very nice hotel. I would have checked my own self in because it's very nice, clean, and smells very clean. They have nice furniture and meeting rooms. The front lobby is beautiful, and they have a little putt-putt area in the center court where they can go outside, get some air, and plant their own flowers. It's fabulous. If I was their age, I would be more than happy to check myself in there because it's just terrific.

Everything was great at Heritage at Westover Hills. That’s probably the best place. I like the menu and the food set up. I also like the area. The rooms are good, but none of them were as big as I like.

Dad was a resident of Heritage at Westover Hills for three weeks. It's a beautiful place, but they were short-staffed and they were not patient. The rooms were clean and spacious, but they didn't have an emergency pull cord near the bed. You have to go all the way to the bathroom. There was also no personal pendant should the resident need immediate attention.

The rooms at Heritage at Westover Hills were beautiful. The staff was very nice and friendly. It was a new place and still forming their activities, so I didn’t see anything going on while I was there. They had nice amenities, like a kitchen and gathering areas. Their courtyard was nice, too. We had a meal, and the food was good.

I found the Heritage. It's in a very nice location, and the staff is very friendly and very nice. He's very well taken care of, his room is very well-kept, and somebody cleans it, and takes him to his appointment when needed. They have several activities. The have Bingo, movies, trivia games, and memory games. I am very impressed with the pricing, and it's very nice.

I visited The Heritage at Westover Hills. They were a new facility and very good for me because they were very close. It looked like they had some activities for people. There were a lot of lights wherever you go and a lot of windows, so it had a lot of natural lighting. Their suites were nice and came with basic cable service. They seemed to have a lot of care for patients. They had a special community fee. They seemed to be concerned with the health of their patients and keeping them up rather than keeping them sedated. It was close to shopping. The staff was very accommodating.
