My brother has moved into Brayden Park Assisted Living & Memory Care. He just got put in. They've been very helpful in assisting us with paperwork and getting him situated quickly after his discharge from rehab. The staff seems efficient, courteous, and very knowledgeable. His studio apartment is clean. It's got a window and a walk-in shower and everything that he needs, a little refrigerator and a microwave. They have arts and crafts, but he's really not had a chance to participate in anything yet. The food smells wonderful. There are lots of choices on the menu for the food in a dining room atmosphere, or they can eat in their room if required. The common rooms look good. They asked about what his hobbies were and intend to direct him in that direction.

My parents moved into Brayden Park Assisted Living & Memory Care. My mom is in the memory care part, and my dad is in the assisted living part. The facility was very nice. The staff is excellent. They have great reviews. The people there are great, and the food was really good. They play bingo and do coloring. They have a lot of activities for them. They have musicians come in and play. Their rooms are nice and set up perfectly. You can't put a lot of stuff in there, but there's still a lot of room. For the price, it's affordable.

My dad has moved into Brayden Park Assisted Living & Memory Care. He is in assisted living. It's very nice. It's very clean. The staff are very helpful. There was Jamie who I had contact with. She told me everything I needed to know, and she was available to answer any further questions I had. She was just very helpful overall. She kept in constant contact. I tried the food. There's a chef who prepares the menus and the food. He actually took the time to go and visit Dad to find out what he likes to eat. For activities, there's a lot of people sitting around in rocking chairs. There was a musical group that came in and did a concert. There's also like the puzzle in the game room that any of the residents are welcome to go to. There's a library with a large screen television. My dad has a studio-efficiency apartment. There is a microwave, a sink, cabinets to put things, and a very small refrigerator. Then, of course, there's private bathroom. It's just a fairly large room that actually fits what he needs perfectly. The staff is fantastic. They are very nice and caring. They have a calendar of activities, and they have transportation. In terms of value for money, they seem to be a little bit lower than the others. They were very clear on the costs, and everything involved for what level of care that he needed. In comparison to the ones that I reviewed and looked at, I would say they're very good. They're extremely friendly and they actually care about their residents, and that means a lot to me.

We have chosen Brayden Park Assisted Living & Memory Care for my father. It seems to be what we need and they're nice people. From what we can tell at this early time, they seem to be the one that we would want to put him in. He is going into a studio, and it was good. They had puzzles and games and stuff going on while we were there. They showed us their library.

My mom is enjoying Brayden Park at San Angelo. The personnel are helpful, good, friendly, and caring, and the rooms are nice. They have a whole calendar full of activities. They offer three meals a day.

I visited Brookdale South San Angelo. Their point system in determining the level of care needed wasn't really clear with how much they would charge my mother-in-law for services she needed. It's a very nice community but I don't think their apartments were quite as large as the place we selected. It's very clean and well-kept, but the location wasn't as convenient for us personally. The main parking lot and main lobby seemed to be adequate, but it didn't look very homey. It was lunchtime when we visited, and they invited us to eat. The staff members I encountered were very pleasant and professional.

I liked Brookdale South San Angelo. It was good and the tour was well done. The tour guide talked a little too quickly for the person who wants to reside there and he had asked her to slow down. But she was very nice and she did a really good job. She just needed to talk a little louder and a little slower for him because he was elderly. I think that it's her habit, so she would forget and start speeding up and drop her voice again. That was probably the toughest part for him. I liked everything there. I thought the layout was nice. I liked how when we were on the tour, a lot of the residents were out and about. They looked like they were having a good time. The energy was really kind of positive and lively compared to the other places that we saw. There were just a few things that he wanted, like they have handrail on the wall, but only on one side, and he wanted them on both sides of the wall. He wanted to garden, he really likes to garden, which she said was something residents would be able to do. She said they don't do that a lot but could set that up for him.

My parents are in Brookdale South San Angelo. They are well staffed. The price is competitive. I like that they have a secured memory care unit, which is what we need for both of my parents. The room is spacious. Both of my parents approve of the food. Their dining area is very inviting.

My father-in-law is in Brookdale South San Angelo. It was very welcoming and seemed like a nice place. The staff was friendly and prompt with requests. Their apartments had a little kitchenette and a full bathroom. The food is pretty good. My father-in-law likes it. They do bingo, puzzle time, and crafts.

My mom was at Emeritus at Myrtlewood Estates (Brookdale South San Angelo) for about three years, and I absolutely love the place. The staff was wonderful and very personable. They took good care of mom. Most of them are young girls, and I just thought it was amazing because they love all these elderly people. I love their apartments. Their food was wonderful; it was a really balanced meal. Their dining area is like a country club; it was huge. It felt like they were in a restaurant. Their security is very good.

I visited Brookdale for my aunt. The staff was accommodating during my tour. The rooms and apartments were fine. In fact, it looked like modern apartments. I tried eating there one time, and the food was good. The dining room was beautiful for what I had seen. I didn't really see any activities, but I know that they had some. They had a shuttle for the residents too. It was a clean facility, and people were happy being there. I would say that my visit was all good.

Myrtlewood (Emeritus at Myrtlewood) was okay. It was centrally located. It was near malls and grocery stores. The rooms were very clean and nice. The food was not the greatest, but the staff was helpful. The only thing was that they demanded you to eat in the dining room and you were not allowed to eat in the room. I didn't like that because I felt you should be able to choose were you wanted to eat.

Emeritus seemed okay. It is a two-story building, which is fine, but they only have one elevator on each end and they are quite small. My mother-in-law mainly uses one of those scoot around things because of her being impaired and I think the elevator just seemed really tight in there. You wouldn't be able to get many people in there with her. Also she thought the rooms were a little small. However, the staff seemed fine and the facility was clean and nice, but she was not interested in it.

I've seen Emeritus at Myrtlewood Estates. I like that they have an Alzheimer's unit in the same building. If we advance that far, we can switch just within the building, but I felt it wasn’t quite clean or welcoming. The residents there seemed a little more handicapped, as there were a lot of wheelchairs. The assisted and the unassisted weren’t mingling with each other. It seemed like they needed to upgrade the facility, but the staff who toured me around was very knowledgeable. I also saw residents playing bingo when I was there.

I like the setup of Emeritus at Myrtlewood for people with Alzheimer's. From what I saw the rooms were nice and clean. There would be places to add some of her things to make it more homey. They encourage that, so she would be able to see her family things in there. The staff was very nice and extremely helpful during the tour.

The service seems to be very good. People come by and clean the rooms once a week, and even offer to change sheets (my great-grandmother refuses to allow them to change the sheets). They have different events such as Bingo, and they take them to church, Walmart, and other places. The food is decent--I have eaten there. Over all, I am glad my great-grandmother is happy there.

Do not place a family member in this establishment. Unless you are there to check on your love one. I have witness memory care residents being laughed at and ignored to the point of them sitting in their own feces or urine. The cost is astronomical and the only people making hug sums of money is the Emeritus Corp. They would like you to believe that your family member is in a caring enviroment but nothing is further from the truth. I am there two or three times a day and have witnessed numerous violations on other residents, but not on my Mom.
