I've now had 2 relatives(Dad,brother) spend time here. Both had brain injuries. For simple therapy, they're adequate. They have limited facilities for therapy. My brother's brain injury was serious. A Psychiatrist was called in to consult on his anxiety due to his brain. Basically the psychiatrist chewed out my brother for not doing certain activities even though he had never received any medical advice on this issue. They have no Dr. on staff. Social worker pretended to care but dragged his feet on issues. Even though the social worker, executive director, and social worker make rounds once per week, their limited effort shows how little they care. Nursing staff are afraid to interact with patients. They just go through the motions of doing their job.

Everything is fantastic at Golden Palms. It is a first-class facility. The dining room is fantastic. They have quite a huge selection on the menu. Everything is like going to a first-class dining room. The chef would put out two different kinds of specials every evening. They even have champagne on certain Sundays, or a candlelight dinner for the residents. It's really, really good. However, my father is wheelchair-bound and there are a lot of things he couldn't go to because they didn't have the wheelchair lifts that lifts you into a van. They have facilities for wheelchair. They just couldn't take him in a wheelchair.

I believe my experiences here were pretty good. I have had 2 family members live at Golden Palms, and they both sadly enough were comfortable enough to pass away there. These were both recent occurrences, but I believe that it will always be a good place for elderly people.
