St Joseph Manor is a clean and quiet place. The staff has been great. They're good about keeping their eye on people and being available if you need them. The facility is actually not new, but it looks new. They maintain it and keep it up. There are no strange smells there. My friend has a private room and their rates are outstanding. They seem to have quite a bit of scheduled activities. They have a gym and two different community rooms where the people can get together and play games or work on puzzles. It's nice and peaceful. People seem to be happy there. We're impressed with them.

St Joseph Manor is a small community, but it's close-knit and they have employees who are loyal and have been here for a long time. There's not a big turnover in help. I have a kitchenette in my unit, my own bathroom, and a bedroom and living room quarters joined together. For a single person, that's all I need. The food is OK. They serve good, nutritious food and you get ample servings. They have a gym, a pool, get-together plans with all the residents here, and a meeting once a week or once a month where you get to talk to the staff about everything. Maintenance is also very good.

We put our mother there for rehab, the staff has a bad attitude the food is horrible, my mother felt like she was putting them out when she asked for anything. Do your family members a favor and avoid this place.

So so disappointing being owned by the local hospital. Mostly to learn my relative's poor experience was not isolated. Sadly several friends recently experienced similar with family's lack of care: med mismanaged, aides slow to respond not at all, soiled clothes and linens, residents left in wheelchairs sleeping in distorted positions, meals served late, etc. Terrible!

My experience with St. Joseph Manor is more positive than other nursing home type facilities I am acquainted with. I have an aunt who currently resides at St. Joseph Manor. My aunt has dementia and is completely deaf. The staff, especially the nursing staff are always so kind and patient with her, treating her as if she is a top priority to them. And even though she doesn't know any of them and cannot hear them, whenever I'm wheeling her down the halls of the facility, seldom is there a time when one of the nursing staff will not come up and verbally say hello to her. Some will also wave so she'll know they're saying hello. And most will always comment on her hair which stays very well cared for, thanks to the facility beauty shop. The facility has many great activities, which my aunt cannot participate in for obvious reasons, but since her room is pretty close to the conference room where the activities are usually held, I can her all kinds of events such as Bingo, card games, dancing, ice cream parties and so on. And whenever food is served during the activites someone will usually knock on the door and ask if my aunt would like whatever they're serving. The asnwer is normally yes. My aunt has a very good appetite and thoroughly enjoys the wonderful meals the home provides. I visit her nearly every day and seldom to I come into her room to find her wet. She is turned regularly. And whenever I need assistance from the nursing staff for whatever reason all I have to do is put on the call light and someone is there within a reasonable time. On a negative note, it would be nice if there were more nurses on staff.
