My father Sylvester spent the last 4 months of his life in Country Retreat in which Natalia was main his nurse on that floor. Words cannot express the kindness and hope she brought to my father and our family. Natalia along with other staff Amber and more made my father not only comfortable but welcomed as it was his own home as well as us when we were there to visit daily. Very Thankful for this facility and the people whom work there. Please give praise where it is deserved. Residents at Country Retreat are very lucky to have such a wonderful caring staff (Natalia) and crew.

I really owe my life to Avera, I was well taken care of , even folks not directly with My care, always spoke with Me, smiled etc..I would recommend the facility to anyone.

The staff were probably the best part of the facility. They were very kind and accommodating both to residents and visitors. They had a lot of tact and empathy when my grandmother passed away there. For activities I know the residents had regular Bingo and Happy Hour which was awesome! The building itself was nothing special. There was a loud alarm system that frequently went off if people exited the building incorrectly. The place was already festive and decorated according to seasons/holidays. They worked to make it an inviting atmosphere. There were animals allowed in the building. There was a community dog and one or two cats that lived there along with a large fish aquarium. The general atmosphere there (as with most nursing homes) was still depressing and kind of smelly. It was a well kept facility but didn't have anything too exciting to offer. There's a wide open eating area where the residents can observe all the activity going on in the building.
