The Village at Summerville is the best place that I've looked at. Their assisted living was very similar to other places that I looked at, they have comparably sized rooms, cleanliness is good, and activities. But eventually, my mom will need memory care, and that portion was a brand-new facility with engineered rooms. It was very state-of-the-art. If you're looking for memory care, that would be the place to be. I was not able to see any of the actual rooms because they weren't taking people around through the facility because of COVID. But I looked at floor plans and they had a wide range of sizes of rooms. I walked through the common areas like the dining room and activity areas. It's clean, bright, and cheerful. They had activities like cards, there was a library and someone was in the room looking at the books, and there was a place with some computers set up and someone was checking their email. It was a very large facility. They have individual independent living like houses and condominiums kind of places. So it has lots of walking trails and sidewalks and that kind of thing. And the other thing that I liked about that facility was they had an actual church chapel on site. Where my mom has been living, people come in and do Bible study and a non-denominational church kind of thing. This is a physical building of a church and, all the people in the neighborhood could go to that church and they had a staff minister or pastor. So I liked that part about it for her as well. The receptionist and tour guide was very friendly, helpful and they were nice.

The Village at Summerville's rooms are very nice. They have individual homes or apartments. The staff was very nice. They have the usual activities, and the activities director was really good. The general room has a grand piano. The food is very appropriate for the people's age level, and healthy, which is important for me. The dining area was a little on the cool side, but definitely clean. They have an extremely nice garden, which I was happy with.

The Village at Summerville has lived up to its excellent reputation. Compared to where my dad was in rehab before, it's like the Ritz-Carlton. He's actually done so much better in the rehab there and for the first time he has actually participated in the activities. My dad likes it and has done great there. I'm just thrilled. it exceeded my expectations. They have a chapel and he likes that, and he has just been happy there. My mom is also there now. One of the things that we like about it is they have the whole gamut, from independent to skilled, and they even have rehab, and to me that was very appealing. The place is beautiful and brand new. My parents are in a semi-private room, which is spacious, has a love seat, recliner, and handicap-accessible bathrooms. The hallways are also wide and it's just gorgeous. My dad has played bingo, crafts, some kind of auction, and singing. They also take them shopping, there's a library on campus, a nice craft room, and a beauty shop in the new place. Some of the food is great and sometimes it isn't quite as good.

The Village at Summerville was very nice, clean, and looked like they did a lot of things for seniors. There were a lot of different living options, the dining facility was very nice, and the food was pretty good. Overall, it was a really great place.

The Village at Summerville seemed to be in a nice location. The people were very professional and a bit more business-like. Their pricing seemed to be a bit high. The rooms were very nice and a bit larger. It was more institutional than homey, but it was very nice. The dining area was very much like a restaurant. While I was there, they had a musical group providing some entertainment.

My experience with The Village at Summerville has been very good. I don't have any problems with them. It’s a little too far for me to drive there every day; otherwise, it’s a very good place for my husband. The rooms are small. He is in a one-bedroom. They don’t have any apartments available, but he is on a waiting list for one when it becomes available. The rooms are clean. The view from his room is a nice wooded area. His room is right near a sitting area where they have a refrigerator and a microwave oven, and he can use that if he needs something in-between meals to eat, so that’s very good. Before he was admitted, we had dinner with them, and it was very good. The price is a little bit less than most places I checked. He has been there for less than a month, but they have really done a good job of checking him out and keeping him happy there.

The Village at Summerville was too large with 300 residents. The facility itself was old, and the rooms were small, but they had an excellent program and excellent staff. It was just overwhelming for my mom. They had a salon, a spa, a gym, and a 5-star chef who makes good, nutritious food cooked fresh every day. In the dining area, you walk through the line and pick out what you want. They have activities all day long every day.

I went to visit the Village at Summerville, and it was very nice. I had lunch there. The people were nice, and the food was good. Unfortunately, it’s really too expensive for me to go to one of these places. Maybe when I’m older, but right now I’ve decided to stay in my home. I think these places are good if you have like a husband, and wife going together; because the second spouse is only an additional $500. For one person it’s really a lot.
