We've placed my brother-in-law in Getz Personal Care Home, it's assisted living. He enjoys it and he likes the people that are there. They're taking care of him very well. He likes the food and the surroundings. The place is in a nice rural section. It's out in the country, very nice and it's very well-kept. They have different activities that go on almost daily and on weekends for the residents there. They also take them out shopping or out for ice cream. He seems to be very content with the food and the meals.

My dad is at Getz Personal Care Home. I've only met one person and her name was Erin, and she was good and very friendly. He's only been there three weeks.
The upkeep was good. It's still winter, so I don't know if they have anything that they put out in the yards. They have furniture out in the parking lot, I noticed, but there are no walking tracks or anything like that, so I don't really know what they do during the summer.
They didn't let me sample the food, but when I went there, they were having fish sticks for lunch and I think macaroni and cheese and I think that's kind of babyish. That's something I would give elementary school for lunch. That's just something that's frozen out of a box. I work at a camp, and I know everything we make is fresh. When we make meatballs, we make them from scratch. We have 200 kids at a time, they're dealing with maybe 30 people, I think they could do a better job with that. These are adults and they shouldn't be treated like kindergartners.
When I went there, they were just sitting around, like by themselves. When I had called the other day, they said my father doesn't come out of the room. He just comes out for meals. To me, I feel like they should try to get him out of his room. He's been there three weeks and all he does is sit in his room and watch TV. That's kind of sad.
He has to pay $3000 a month for a room with a very small TV. All he has in there is a bed and a chair and he's self-sufficient. They clean the room, they do his laundry, and they feed him, that's it. For $3000 a month, I think it's kind of high, but it is what it is, I guess.
It is a nice community. It is in the middle of nowhere in Pennsylvania. If you're used to that kind of living, it's great. It's not great because of the price, but it's clean and the people are friendly.
I don't know what their activities are. I heard bingo and candy, I think that's on a child level, but I don't know what kind the people they're working with there. I'm just going to add that if they're used to country living, that's the place to be. If they're not country folks, that's not where they want to be. It's out there in the boonies, but it's a nice place.

I have had my uncle at other Personal care homes and they couldn't match the care he gets at Getzs'. The staff keeps me informed of anything that has happened (falls, illness etc).
He is so happy with the activities. The food is great and the facilities are kept in excellent condition. They go way beyond my expectations. Thank you to the Getz family!!!

Getz Personal Care Home was very restrictive. There were a lot of do's and don'ts and I didn't care for that. The staff wasn't overly friendly. The apartments were very nice and clean, but everything was very sterile.

My mom has been in Getz Personal Care Home now for about 3 weeks. It’s clean, the residents seem friendly, and the food is OK. My mother is Italian, so she’s unhappy with the food, but it’s nourishment. If they have any vitamins or over-the-counter stuff, it has to be cleared by the doctor. Now, she has the doctor that belongs to the group that’s there. I did go see her last week, and it was good, but it’s getting used to. For me and the person that’s there, they have to get used to it.
