We have found a place for my mother, and we have chosen Brookdale Bloomsburg. So far, it looks good. They seem to check all the boxes off of what we need for my mother. She needs to have 24/7 care, and it looks like they're going to provide that. So, we are very much looking forward to this care that she's going to receive there. It looked very clean. Everything was in order. The staff was very friendly. The dining hall looked very good. There were residents walking around somewhere in the lobby. They were greeting guests as they came in. The room that Mom will have everything that she needs. We're pretty pleased, and we're looking forward to having Mom move in so that we can know that she's safe. The staff who assisted us, Andrea, was very knowledgeable. We met the nurse, and she seemed to be on top of all of Mom's needs and all of her medicines, so we're pretty confident that they will be professional and taking good care of our mom. The only activity we observed was the activity director giving one of the guests a manicure and painting her nails, so we haven't seen anything else. We haven't been there that much. They have a lot of things like playing bingo and getting the residents involved in things. This is going to be important for us so our mom doesn't just sit in her room and do nothing. Her room is small, but it's big enough that she will be able to have her bed, her recliner, her TV, and her dresser. She has a bathroom and a closet, so it will be pretty good. It should suit all of her needs for now.

Brookdale Bloomsburg was fantastic, but they could not offer the services that my cousin needed. I have no problem with Brookdale. Andrea was fantastic to work with. She talked to me about what to expect. She gave me a tour, and I talked with some of the residents. It was really good and if they could have offered the services, we definitely would have gone there, but my cousin needed more one-on-one than they could offer. They were fantastic. The thing that struck me the most was how happy all the residents seemed. Even walking down the hall, the staff knew everybody's name, she conversed with them like they all seemed incredibly happy to be there. The facility itself was gorgeous. I just got a good vibe from it. They were just setting for the evening meal, so there wasn't anybody in there eating or anything like that. They had a courtyard, and they had tomatoes growing, like a section where there was produce and there were benches all around. I thought it was cool that the residents could also participate in the planting.

We're really impressed with Brookdale Bloomsburg, and we're considering it. It was very nice and they're very warm and make you feel totally comfortable. My mother will be going there for sure. They seem to have a lot of activities. The rooms are very nice. The staff is super good. The dining room looked very good and comfortable. I like the style and they give you choices. The activities they offered looked good. I got an overall good feel for it.

My friend has been in Brookdale Bloomsburg for a little while now. She loves it there. It is a very large community. It always looks very clean. Everyone that I have spoken to has been very informative and very congenial. The staff members are very nice. She said they're just like her kids. The residents have their own rooms. My friend has a small refrigerator and a microwave. She goes out to get all of her meals. They give you a good breakfast, a snacky lunch, and a good meal in the evening.

Brookdale Bloomsburg's corridors are so narrow that two people with walkers can't pass each other. When you walk in from the parking lot, you're right in the main living area. There's no entryway. I don't think that serves the needs of residents and doesn't seem to be as safe. The staff seems really nice though, and the one thing I really like is that every patient wears a monitor, so if they need something, they can press the button on the monitor and it goes directly to a pager on a staff member. When the alarm goes off, the staff member knows exactly where the person who needs help is. What I didn't like was they weren't honest with the cost for rent. I was told it was $3,700 and then it became $3,900.

Mother is in Brookdale. It has a porch with room for eight people to sit, but I wish they had more of a back area because the front area is close to a highway. They have exercise class, devotional activities, and some brain games. We have somebody come in for physical therapy and occupational therapy.

We really liked Brookdale because it was very clean, very homey, had nice decorations, and a fish tank in the lobby. My mom really liked the food and said it was excellent. They have a book mobile that visits and brings different kinds of books. They also have visiting entertainment, like singers and country music artists. They also have non-denominational church every Sunday, exercise in the mornings, and manicures. We are very happy with them.

Emeritus of Bloomsburg was a fine place. I was very much at home with it. They were very clean. The staff was very friendly. However, the rooms didn't look very roomy.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful to me as a visitor. I received a full tour and was introduced to the main workers at the facility. I was also introduced to many of the residents. They all seemed very happy to be there. They had a huge cafeteria with a wide selection of products and scheduled meals as well as assistance for those who needed it. They also had daily activities scheduled such as bingo and game time for anybody who was interested in doing it. Overall, my experience there was a good one. The place was very clean and well kept and the staff and residents seemed to all know each other on a very personal level. It was a great environment and I would definitely suggest it to others who are looking for a place to live or have a relative in need.
