Concordia provides excellent care for residents. The staff is caring, compassionate, and responsive to resident and family needs. The daily activities are meaningful and enjoyable. Periodically outside entertainment is provided, the performers are very entertaining. Thanks to all staff.

My mother moved into Concordia of Monroeville. We are very pleased with them. It is very expensive, and that's the only problem. The layout of the place is three stories. They have a big community room on the first floor when you go in. The social directors are fabulous. They have something for them all the time. My mother's very social, so it's good that they have activities Monday through Friday, always, and sometimes on the weekends. She gets really happy about that. They have bingo every day. There's a dining room on the bottom floor. The workers are wonderful, caring, and very concerned about my mother. My mother's room and bathroom are always clean. The two receptionists are so sweet, and if you ask for favors, they do it. My mom has one big room. We brought furniture from her home, and they provided the bed. They have a variety of rooms.

At Cedars, the building was older, but the rooms were big. When we were there, we saw people interacting in an exercise class, and they seemed to be enjoying it. The person we talked to was very informative.

I was disappointed that the amenities we saw on our tour were not readily accessible to my Grandfather once he was a resident. The staff was generally friendly and helpful; but overworked. While there he fell 5 times and choked 3 times because there were not adequate personnel to assist him. The food certainly looked appetizing and they were good at encouraging him to eat with others. I experienced profound difficulties while trying to get status updates over the phone. Once being cursed at and a second when they told me he was deceased in error. Every time I visited it was very clean and my grandfather was always clean shaven, hair cut and bathed. At first glance, it appeared that all was well and he was adequately cared for. It was not until later that the difficulties and inadequacies became apparent.

This is a decent place. There are alot of activities for the residents. The physical therapy is also very good. However, my dad did develop a bad bed sore under their care, and they did not let us know how bad it was. In fact, they told us it was getting better when it wasn't.
