We did a tour of Park Creek Place Assisted Living. They were very nice. We went there and got introduced to several people, the girl who's the head of nursing, and another guy. They all came in and talked to us, and we had a very friendly conversation. The problem with them is they charge by the day. I was constantly multiplying everything in my head while I was standing there. When you give a day rate, it sounds better, but then you multiply it times 30 or 31, that kind of thing. I didn't have a good idea of what we were paying or even if there was something they would better that I didn't even get as far on. When we walked out to get in the car, the guy came running after me. The salesman said, he forgot something, and that is the initial charge to move in. He mentioned it but said they were waving it. I guess it's a good sales technique, I don't know if that's the norm or so.
They charge by the day, they have a different kind of thing going on there, like if you're coming from surgery. It's the only place that charges by the day. I thought that was too confusing and a little suspect.
There's a separate building there because I went to the wrong building by mistake. When you first drive in, it was easier for me to see the first building when you sort of turn to the left. The one on the left was closest, so I went there, and that is the memory care or the Alzheimer's unit or something. So, they directed us back to where I was supposed to be.
My appointment was at five, and people were starting to go to the dining room. It looked crowded to me, but it could have just been that everybody was heading to the same place. I think there was more than one dining room; they were like different little rooms, as I remember. I didn't like the daily rate. The daily rate is what did it for me.
There were a couple of rooms, and they could have given them. So, they showed us a couple, and they were fine. There's an elevator. It's a cute little place. The rooms are smaller than the other place. It's a room and a closet.
The head of nursing was very nice, and the other person, maybe the owner, was very nice; but I think they were leaving, and then the salesman took us around. Everybody was hustling to one of those rooms for food. It was a very small hallway, and somebody was there with a cart. She was doing something with a cart that she was going to deliver to these people who were going for dinner. All of this was in one little area, a hallway that was so small, and where the elevator was. So, she is standing there, and people are getting in and out of the elevator. We're trying to go up, and people are getting out. It was congested. I don't know that I would have felt that way if I had gone at a different time of day.
It didn't feel as clean as the other place. They were hustling with meals and hustling with pills. It was very hard to judge cleanliness, it was crowded. I felt like all of a sudden, I was walking into huge, massive congestion. It was hard to judge cleanliness or anything else. The room we walked into wasn't dirty, it's just that it wasn't as nice. They said, they can get a refrigerator and a microwave in there because I had mentioned that's what the other place had. But it was a smaller room, and there wasn't as much space, whether it was clean or not. It didn't look like there was a new rug, and it was freshly painted to me.

Park Creek Place Assisted Living was very nice. The tour experience was good. The people seemed to be happy, friendly, and very informative. The rooms and activity rooms were nice. The nurse had stopped to talk to us a little bit. The facility seemed very clean. We were shown two different sized rooms that weren't being used at the time, and they were clean. Everything was very well kept as far as we could see.
The staff was very good and had a brochure ready for us. He was very helpful. He seemed to be very nice with all the people that we pass by. The residents seemed to really like him and stopped to talk to him, so it was nice. There were people eating in the dining room when we were there, and they seemed to be enjoying themselves. They had a little garden, and people could come out and work in it. The patio was very nice.

Park Creek Place Assisted Living was newer-looking. I saw a lot of residents out and about in the common areas and they were watching TV together, while some were up in the activities area. I met the activities director and the nursing staff. They showed me how they distribute their pills and everything. They have a list if mom needed assistance getting lifted from bed to her wheelchair and they have all of that available. Plus memory care in the building next door.
They had four different dining areas. I met the chef and I was very impressed with him. Their menu had a lot of variations on it. It seemed a lot better than what my mom is getting. Right now, she needs some of her food pureed and the chef said that it's not a problem as he got quite a few people that needed their food to be diced or pureed as well.
I talked to Matt and he was new, but he was very knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about the tour (and was not pushy). He was very thorough. Showed me three different types of rooms and listened to everything that I was requesting and tried to make sure that everything would be a right fit. They hold a mass, they have rosary, different games, and they take them on rides. They have a committee where the residents get to choose what is working for them (entertainment-wise) and what is not. They have a kitchenette where they make food up there as part of their activities. They had just made Irish potatoes when I was there, and sometimes they bake cookies or any of the foods that they feel like doing. They have little competitions sometimes with their pool table or with the corn hole or other yard games. The residents love to see the deer come up close so they can see the wildlife a little closer. I was very impressed with the place. My only drawback was, it was a little far for me to travel.

We went to Park Place today, and we had a good visit. It was a good and very informative tour. The place is small but lovely. They have everything there that you need. You do not need to put a lot of money upfront because it's strictly month to month there. My one concern was, and we haven't really addressed this, if you should need nursing care, you have to leave there. It's assisted living, but I guess if you had a stroke, or if you are in really bad shape and you aren't going to recover, they would not be able to continue with nursing care. That was my only concern, because I'm kind of looking for a place where my sister can stay. We like it though, and we were impressed with it.
The person who conducted the tour seemed very knowledgeable. He was able to answer all of our questions. It was our first experience visiting a place and asking questions, and he was able to try to answer our questions, and even suggest things that we hadn't even thought of.
The rooms are small though. They have three different sizes, and they are definitely small. The biggest room they have may be a good size for somebody that's just downsizing from a large house to something smaller. I can't imagine myself going from a house into one of those rooms. My sister's in a pretty large apartment, and even for her it will be an adjustment to go into that smaller space, and I'm sure we're going to have to go for a smaller space because of the cost. The large room would just be too much money; she doesn't need that much space. The small rooms are good because I would think it gets people out of the rooms to use the other facilities that they have around. They have game rooms, sitting rooms, libraries, and they don't want people to stay in the rooms.
We also met with the physical therapist when we were there, and she was very knowledgeable, and helpful as to what she does, even with insurance stuff. We met with some other staff members, too. Everybody was very friendly.

My mother moved into Park Creek Place. Everything is good, and the staff is very helpful and pleasant. They do daily games, activities outside, they go on trips, and they're very content. The food is very good, her room is very nice, it's like a double room, and she's very happy with it.

We lived in Park Creek Place. Compared to what we have now, it was every bit a 5-star community. The place was good. The activities were excellent. They were always doing things. They took us fishing one day last summer, which I thought was pretty neat. They took us to some concerts, they took us to vote, and they took us sight-seeing. At Christmas time they took us out to see all the lights nearby. They have their own bus right there and that bus is always available day and night to take us to different places. As for the food, under Enlivant, we went almost two months without a cook. They would take whatever employee was there and put them in the kitchen to prepare something and bring it to us at meal time. The food was atrocious during that time.

I visited and my son and I felt like it was very homey but modern and looked like it would satisfy my needs. From what I saw, I would give it the highest rating.

I am impressed with the cleanliness. My mother has been there since September and seems to have adapted to living there pretty easily. Everything has been very good. The staff is very attentive. They have very nice apartments and spacious as we were able to bring in some furniture of my mother's there. She says the food is OK with some meals better than others. However, they need to get better therapists. Otherwise, it is pretty good. It is geared toward family.

It was very nice. The contact person was really good. The apartments looked nice and clean, the attitude of the staff was favorable, and the food was average. They seemed to have just about everything.

The receptionist that greeted us was absolutely marvelous, very friendly, and open. She took us into the available rental areas and walked us through the whole building. She explained the dining areas, how everything was utilized, and showed us the living room, the main rooms, and the outside. It seemed to have everything we were looking for. We also met many of the residents, the nutritionist, a lot of the nurse's aides, and people working in the office, and everybody was very friendly and welcoming. We were given a list of all the things and their schedule. They had movies, music, entertainment, exercise, bowling, cooking activities, and gardening outside. They have a picnic coming up where the residents and their families are invited. A lot of the people that were visiting the residents seemed to know one another.

It is on the smaller side, so you have a warm friendly feel. You don’t feel like it’s an institution, and it doesn’t smell like a nursing home. The staff is helpful and accommodating. They tell me what my mom needs as far as items to bring in and how well she is adjusting or not adjusting. The rooms are pleasant and clean and seem to have adequate space.
It’s secure; all the doors are locked with alarms. When she was first there, she was quite agitated and trying to get out. The alarms did go off, and you can’t enter or exit without the codes. They try to have them engaged. That will be picking out music, listening to music, or playing treasure hunts like looking for items. They had a harpist playing for the people there.

It was a pleasant experience when we visited. The woman who showed us around was extremely nice, and she showed us everything. She understood what we were looking for. She was very patient and understanding, and she knew really well that we were not going to do anything that day; it was like giving us a lot of information and time and effort on our part. It couldn't have been a better presentation of what they have.

It was beautiful. Everything was perfect; however, it was a lot more expensive. What impressed me most about this place was the overall look of the environment. It was very nice. It was small though. They were having some kind of activity at that time, and everybody was gathered in the living room. There was a dining room on each floor. My father was going to be located very close to the nurses station, which was very nice. The room was very nice, but it was not as big as what my father has now. They have nice property behind there, and he would have a great window overlooking that. Everybody was great there. The person that I met was fantastic. She spent a lot of time with me. What they need to improve on was the dining area. It wasn't that big, and I thought that would cut down on socialization. The other thing was just the size of it. They didn't really have a separate activity room; it was just a living room. Overall, it appeared very nice, very neat, and clean.

I really, really like it. The rooms were very nice, and the place was very, very nice. The facility on the outside was beautiful. The price was good. I think the activities were good too.

I really like it. They have excellent personnel working there. I give high marks to the lady who showed me around. If I had to go into a facility at this point or in the future, I would pick this one.
