I'm very pleased with Providence Place Senior Living of Chambersburg. They have a very high staff tenant ratio and a lot of activities. They do well-checks often. The food is wonderful. My father is very happy there and we are thrilled with it. He's got a small apartment. They have all kinds of different rooms. They have studio apartments and big and small apartments. They have art classes, a pub, entertainment, people come in and play the piano and guitar for them, they have church services, bingo, game nights, and trips. They have so many things. They have a library, a computer room, cooking classes, art classes, and crafts classes. They have five to six activities a day for them to choose from.
Every day, they put a list on your door and let you know what's going on, and if you want to do it, you show up; if you don't, you don't. The staff is kind, patient, and very attentive. I saw the food and they're amazing. Because of Covid, we can't eat with them. We still have to wear masks as a visitor or a staff member. The clients or the residents don't have to, but we're still not allowed to be in the dining room with them. My father loves the food. It's almost restaurant-style. You go in and they give you a little menu and you circle what you want. You have to take a lot of elevators though because there are three floors plus the basement, and he's on the second floor.

Providence Place currently seems to be a bit understaffed for the number of residents they have. Call bells can take up to 15 minutes to be answered which can be problematic.
There are 2 dining rooms with 3 different dining times (plus the dining in the memory unit) so occasionally food is cold and dessert is no longer available.
This is a 3-story building and the elevators can be problematic with a lot of residents trying to go up and down for meals.
The room sizes are good and some rooms are shared by 2 residents.
Bingo, horseshoes, coloring, art and field trips are some of the activities offered.
For those needing minimal assistance this may be a good choice, especially if you are a couple who want to stay together in the same room.
Staff tries their best but again, currently understaffed.

Providence was very nice, they have very caring people, and the residents there all seemed to be quite happy. It’s more assisted living, and we’d like to get something a little more independent. If it happens that we definitely need assistance, then Providence is a very good place to be. The rooms were comfortable, and they’re pet friendly, which was nice.

Providence Place is a well-kept assisted living facility. The feedback I have received from my grandparents has been quite positive. The facility offers many great amenities and while I am not familiar with that many assisted living facilities I do believe that Providence Place is one of the better ones. When I have visited the facility, the staff is typically quite friendly and responsive to any needs or requests while I am present. The only qualm I have with the facility is that there are times I feel it is understaffed. I understand that at different points of the day there are more people in the building however, I believe that there could be more security staff at all times. I feel as though it is relatively easy to come and go. There is not really a check in system that I feel is satisfactory at ensuring that a guest of the facility is actually visiting someone. The last and final drawback of the facility is the cost. I understand that living in an assisted living facility comes at a great cost however, I believe the cost of Providence Place is a bit excessive. It is a top notch facility and there are many positives about it, the cost does deter from the overall experience.
