About This Community
Ecumenical Retirement Community began as a family-owned and operated senior living facility in 1970. It has since grown to include six campuses and over 1,000 residents. At Country Meadows, their goal is to enable residents to live active, healthy lives through a variety of programs that promote social engagement and intellectual stimulation. They offer many different activities for their residents, including dances, parties, country rides, lunch at local restaurants, games at the clubhouse or movies at the theater. Country Meadows also provides comfortable living quarters with cozy libraries where friends can gather for conversation or reading. They take wellness seriously at Country Meadows by providing fitness instructors who plan wellness education programs with community health professionals who visit the campus regularly. Residents have access to fitness activities such as Tai Chi classes or gentle yoga sessions led by an instructor who is certified in therapeutic yoga techniques specifically designed for seniors' needs. There are also Nautilus exercises available in the fitness center as well as an indoor walking track on each campus which can be used year-round thanks to their heated floors.

My wife and I have been looking at assisted living communities and there are many to look at. I must say our visit to Ecumenical was very positive. The vacility is very clean. The rooms were very nice and the entire campus gives you a private resort atmosphere. We were invited to have lunch on our visit and I must commend the hospitality and quality of the menu and the dining area. We plan to visit again in the near future as Ecumenical is high on our list of assisted living communities. R.Mahan

Rooms are nice size. Enough room. My aunt has small private room and it is plenty for her. She is very happy. Staff interactions are very positive. We communicate regularly. My aunt is now getting good nutrition and medication management/adherence. Ecumenical is very nice, comfortable, like home. Food is wonderful. Guests can eat for very good price. They have medical staff on premises, which puts my mind at ease. I am grateful to the staff for taking good care of my elderly aunt.

We're satisfied with Ecumenical Retirement Community. My dad is getting the care that he needs, and he's acclimating. We've seen the menu. The food looked very good and was very appetizing. Every hour of every day they have something going on, all day long. They have a lot of activities for my father to participate in like bible study, arts and crafts, bingo, sing-alongs, and everything. They have a recreation room, they have movies for them, and he has his own mailbox. They go on a lot of day trips, they take them for a ride in the country, or they take them to the Salvation Army or Goodwill store. They take them out during the day so they're not indoors all the time. I'm very pleased because they answered all the questions I had. If I ask them to do anything they'll do it. I have good rapport with them. Anything they don’t have answers for, they'll get an answer for us. My dad likes the way the place is set up. They have a nice common room for everybody to gather in, the dining room is very well-kept, and the recreational room is well-equipped. They have like a whiteboard where they post whatever is going on for that day.

Ecumenical Community, Inc., was very inviting and friendly-looking. It had a library and activities for the residents. The staff members who worked with us were very friendly and knowledgeable.

My mother lived there for several years and they were great with her. i would say 75 percent of the staff were great and very professional. The personal care aides are the true angels of that place. They are truly caring. The kitchen staff was great and very observant of the residents and their needs. Most of the activity directors were great. However, beware of a few things. When we were first applying there we asked the one manager, I believe her name was Megan, how much the rent increases were every year. She replied they were like normal rent increases in apartments. This is not true at all and as far as i am concerned false representation. They increased over a hundred dollars every year. I do not know of one apartment complex that hikes rent like that. Also, the higher you go in management beware the condescending attitudes when you question something about policy or health issues. These people need to remember you or your loved one are paying to be there and they are not doing you a favor by having your loved one there. i will still give this place a very good rating because of the day to day staff you or your loved will encounter. They are amazing.

I was able to visit Ecumenical Retirement, and I would like be in this facility, but the problem is that, in their independent living facility, you have to have your own doctor, and that is my biggest problem. We also took my mom there because we think it's the best place around here for the money. It's the only place that I can afford. It's a good place, and I've been there many times and know lots of people already. They have different kinds of activities that are posted in the building.

We choose Ecumenical Community for my mom because aside from the cost, they seem to have the most experienced with folks that had Alzheimer's and dementia. She's been there a couple of weeks and her doctor is an on-call doctor there which is good. They seem to have activities that are necessary to dementia patients to be active during the day. We are still in the transition stage and naturally the Alzheimer's patients will act out and going to be more confused. However, they seems to be handling it very well. There seems to be enough staff so that everybody gets individual care. They have been good working with us and taking care of my mom.

My mother is in Ecumenical Retirement Community. She likes it and fits in there well. The staff is absolutely wonderful and the food is very good. I've eaten there when I had lunch with my mother. The rooms are very clean. She has her own room which is good for her, because that's what she needed.

This facility is nice and very well priced as it is non profit. Unfortunately it was full at the time my brother and I were looking for a assisted living facility for our father. But, at least now we know why!
