I went to The Chandler Estate. Our experience was overall positive. The woman who took us on the tour is not the person who usually does tours. She explained that wasn't her normal job, but I think she did a good job. She was like, "Just any questions, call back." The top floor was the more intensive care. The rooms were tiny. It was just a toilet and sink. There were no bathing facilities in the rooms. There was a very large shower bathing room where staff would assist the residents, which we were not thrilled with.
We were there during breakfast and residents were in the cafeteria area. There was a lot of chatter, and they were talking with each other. They seemed very upbeat, which was a positive. The downstairs area was more like apartments or suites. It had a separate bedroom, bathroom, and a large living room flowing into a kitchenette area with exterior doors leading up to a patio outside. Those were very, very nice. People who were living there have been there a while. They're very homey. The suites downstairs were gorgeous and huge. The staff said they have two retired librarians as residents, and they had an amazing little library area. They had a huge activities room and it was very nice. There were a lot of positives there.

My mother lived in a private room at The Chandler Estate for 4 years before she passed away there last fall. The staff were so accommodating to her needs throughout all of the changes in her stay there. They really knew their business inside and out and noticed things that we didn't see when we visited. As a very involved family member I can say that mostly any request I made was met with a smile or an explanation as to why it couldn't (you wouldn't believe how many regulations they have to follow!) The facility felt like home from the minute we walked in the door. Mom's room was a little on the smaller side but she didnt spend much time in there anyway. There were plenty of activities to keep them active. There was always something cooking that smelled delicious in there. Mom really enjoyed the food and her only complaint was that it was kind of repetitive but that is the Pennsylvania Dutch style which the rest of the residents seemed to enjoy. I could not have asked for a better place to keep my mom all those years! I know she passed at "home" in her heart.

I had a relative who lived at Chandler Estate for 5 years in the Main Building. I could not have been more pleased. The staff were kind to my Mother. Their care and attention was topnotch. I would recommend this community anyone who is looking for excellent care, kindness, fair operation and a clean well kept environment.

At Chandler Estate, it was there one place where I was greeted when I walked in, which impressed me. The main facility houses the assisted living patients, but the campus has this independent living where there are four apartment-style, all single-story pods around the estate. When I walked in there, the people were very friendly, and the caretakers were helpful to the assisted living people. They were kind enough to take us down and show us one of the empty units that was going to become available for rent. My mother had a two-bedroom home before that she was living in. This home was every bit as spacious as what she was used to livingin and all her furniture fit in there. It is completely fitted with kitchens and the bathrooms, but if you do not want to cook, you can have meals delivered to your home. The main campus cafeteria makes food for the assisted living, but they will bring meals, which has been very helpful. They maintain the place, tshovel the snow, and do everything, and it is quite affordable. It was probably the least expensive one out of the ones that we had checked out. She’s been there for approximately two years. There are a lot of activities, but my mother chooses not to participate in any of them. They have church services there on Sunday. I know my mother is safe there. The price was fair compared to the other places we looked at.

My dad has been in The Chandler Estate IV for over a month. It's very clean, very warm, and inviting. It has facilities for independent living and assisted living. Their meals are excellent. Their services and their people are great. They take the residents out to eat every so often and do plenty of activities. They have two dining areas upstairs and apartments downstairs. It is in a wagon wheel shape where they have short hallways coming off the common area. There are other rooms to play cards and to watch TV.

Chandler was a very nice place. They were very nice when we looked around over there. A couple of residents were even willing to let visitors take a look at their rooms or their quarters and everything seemed to be very nice and clean. They did have plenty of activities for their residents. As far as our visit went, they were very acceptable especially with the way they were acting and the way people were treating us as visitors. We were impressed with this one.

If it sounds to good to be true, it is! residents have to double pay on cable and phone bills. monthly payment to facility ($40.00 cable) and ($30.00 phone) towards connection wires which were installed back then when the apartments were built, plus monthly usage to the carrier. An incredible amount of money for a senior citizen. Office personnel NOT too friendly. This place has issues.

The area is elegant and rural but that's as far as I would go. The facility represented itself as "assisted living" I found it to be more like a locked down nursing home. It was very loud inside and chaotic. Employees were few and far between. Not an environment I would want a loved one. Dissapointing

The set up at Chandler Estates was very nice. They had the main building and then off to the sides other buildings its members could reside in. Help was provided when needed and I personally viewed the staff to be very friendly. The main building was kept very clean, and buses were available at alltted times to provide transportation. Moving around was made easy with ramps and elevators available for use. The only thing I found was that there was a funny smell upon walking into the downstairs of the main building, but I think that was just some of the elderly people.
