I did a tour of The Hearth at Drexel. The main mansion building is lovely. I would say it's a nice place, but it's on the small side. It was well-kept and clean. It was older-style architecture. The mansion house is a mansion house; it's an old home. That's where the office buildings are, in some of the main rooms. That's 1920 or 1910 or something, the rest of the buildings are built to fit in architecturally with that.
The staff was lovely. She was a very nice young woman. She showed us around, showed us everything we wanted to see, and explained things pretty thoroughly. The issue there is that the rooms of the apartments were designed for single people. For a single person, it would be fine unless they're used to a lot of space, but it's pushing it for a couple. There are only two 2-bedrooms in the entire place and they are full.
Some of the places in the upstairs were a little bit more worn as they were. But all of the places that people spent most of their time were kept up nicely.
They have a salon. We did not learn about a chapel; I don't know if there is one. I thought I saw one in their literature, but we didn't see one when we were there. I know there are services, they have a chaplain who comes and does discussions and usually is in their library.

The Hearth at Drexel is in a historic mansion with beautiful furnishings, antiques, and statues. We rarely saw a resident the whole hour we were there. The place is not even half occupied, and I like that. I only dealt with the salesperson, who was excellent. They have a lot of variety of rooms and apartments. Some of the rooms were not ideally laid out, but I think they did a good job at it. Each floor has its own dining area, and everything is first class. There were fireplaces in the middle, a patio you can eat on, and is beautifully landscaped. It's luxury.

I love this place. My grandmother has been here for about a month. The care and respect she is receiving is beyond what we hoped and prayed for. The staff is friendly and always willing to help. I can't say enough how attentive they are and my grandmom had a medical problem and they were quick to communicate with family and stayed with memom until family could get there. They remained engaged and concerned for her throughout the process. If I could give this place 10 stars I would!!!
