Village at St Edward was surrounded by a lot of green grass, rolling hills, and trees. The staff was very helpful, nice, warm, and caring. They have all sorts of arts and crafts and social get together as well as they offer day trips on a bus. The dining room was under renovation.

My mom has only been at The Village at St. Edward for two weeks, and so far it’s been good. We have been unable to experience much, but so far she likes it. There are a lot of services that they provide, and she likes the food over there. They do have activities several times a week. If you have a doctor’s appointment, they’ll drive you to your doctor’s appointment. If people want to go to the grocery store or some other store, they will do that. They do once-a-week vacuuming, and cleaning up of your unit; things like that. They cleaned her room all up, put new carpet in, painted everything, and she seems to be very pleased over there. One of her cousins, and a couple other people that she knew are there too. We haven’t been there long enough really to evaluate everything. So far there are certain things that they say they’ll do, but we haven’t experienced that yet.

The people at The Village were very friendly, but they didn’t have too many places available for us to look at. They only had two different apartments that were a lot older. They had activities, a library, trips to the store, an exercise group, and a walking path, which was in a quadrant, so you can walk around the outside on nice path. It didn’t seem like they had as many activities as the others. They had two meals a day; if you wanted the third, it was extra. There was just something about it that didn’t click with us. All of us agreed that it wasn’t the place for my dad. It’s just wasn’t what we were expecting.

The reason why my mother wanted to go to the Village at St. Edward was because it was a Catholic facility. It seemed like they were equally priced with all the others that we looked at, but that really was the one she wanted to go to. However, she never had the chance because passed away. It was beautiful in appearance. The size of the room was very generous. They had a refrigerator in the mini kitchen, and that was a very big plus. I didn't have a chance to talk to anybody other than one person. She was the administrator, and she was very nice.

I was impressed with their deep concern for people at The Village at St. Edward. It is basically a Catholic facility, but they are open to anybody. The few people that I met that day were helpful. The dining room seemed very pleasant and able to handle the needs of the residents and their various requests. They have all kinds of activities from taking people to the grocery store to entertainment things to sporting events to activities on the premises, religious services, physical therapy and others.

I've been here for four years. It's cheaper and I like the food they serve. Staff is friendly, very dependable, and helpful.
