Well, my mom had broken her femur and then my dad had a heart attack and a triple bypass and we my dad and I had already chosen St Margaret Hall for my mom's recovery, so when dad needed somewhere to go it was an easy choice. They put their rooms next to each other other, which made my mom feel quite a bit better. My dad was in and out in no time, but mom was there for much longer (a broken femur takes a decent amount of rehabilitation). In that time she racked up a nice size bill. They have worked with us on a payment plan that we can afford, but they spelled her name incorrectly on the bill for months. They also send a monthly bill with no return envelope. You'd think that a for-profit facility could at least afford the envelope. Anyway, the head nurse in the rehab facility was exceptional. I always knew my parents were in good hands when they were there. Also, there was one woman who cleaned that took very good care of my mom. The aides for the most part were good, but one in particular needed to learn a better bedside manner, particularly with people of an advanced age. She would constantly let my mom sit in dirty adult diapers for way too long and take soooo much time to get her pain medication when requested (which my mom was prescribed to get). It came down to a sit down with everyone, but nothing changed. So, just St Margaret Hall definitely has its good points, but be aware that it has bad ones too.

I would not want my dad to live at St. Margaret Hall. It’s very antiquated and felt, to me, like a place to die, not like a place to enjoy the rest of your life.

I visited this assisted living home when my grandmother was gravely ill. She had been sick for a while but finally went to hospice at Saint Margaret Hall.I didn't really get to see the staff much because we visited after hours, but there were some clean security guards who let us in at night. From what I saw my grandmother was well taken care of. There isn't much you can do for someone at that time of life, but she was clean and my grandfather had nothing to complain about. The room was clean and comforting, but it wasn't luxurious. The place could use a little updating but other than that it was a nice quite building. I guess because it is run by nuns they keep it close to the simpler side of life. They must have been a wonderful place though, because my grandfather wanted all donations at the funeral to go to the home.
