I went to Brewster Parke, Inc. I was impressed with their bedrooms. It was very big and had a queen-size bed, TV, microwave, and refrigerator. The building I was touring was brand-new, which may explain why it was so pristine. The staff was very professional. The rooms had access to outdoor areas that were fenced in, so that looked like a nice feature.

We had my mother-in-law at Brewster Parke since October of 2014, and we absolutely love it. Their apartments are very nice. If you don’t have your own things, they can provide that, but we did bring her own stuff. The care is great. They have everything with regards to their activities. They have stretching exercises three days a week. They also have church services every Sunday. They had her nails done every week.

There wasn’t really anything specific at Brewster Parke that I liked, but there was an apartment available in independent living and the place she wanted, and the rooms are nice. They do movies, games and they have an activity every day to stay active. They have different levels of care and she is in the lowest level of care, but as far as including her in any of the activities, they don’t really do anything to include her in any activities. They should get the residents involved in the community.

Mother is placed at Brewster Parke. It’s closer to our home. I was aware of this facility before. We were very impressed with it and my mom was happy with it so that’s why we chose it. It was excellent. The food is very good. It was clearly a relatively new facility. It was very homey, not institutionalized-looking or hospitalized-looking so we knew she would feel right at home there.

It's part of Brewster Parke. It's the assisted-living. They have different buildings, and one is called Franklin Inn, and then there's Jefferson Inn. Henry Inn has a little movie theater for the residents and a huge dining room. The rooms are very nice. They have real nice suites for the people, with microwaves and little refrigerators in their rooms. Patio doors. Very, very nice. I'd highly recommend it. Franklin Inn is kind of older. It's not quite as nice as the other ones, but it's still real nice. It's almost a step down from the nursing home. They don't have patio doors that go outside. I don't think they trust those people as much. They're more like getting dementia, and they keep them more locked in. It is very nice, but it's not as nice as Jefferson Inn, Henry Inn, and the Dolley Madison. They have a little bus that takes them to the Wal-Mart and out to eat and all kinds of different stuff. They have bird feeders out for the folks to watch the birds, and they have nature trails for them to walk in the assisted living.
