I was hesitant about putting my mother into an assisted living residence. We were sad about moving our Mom from her home. However, The Bristal has been a God send. I don’t think that she could get better care anywhere. The staff there are attentive, caring, and compassionate, My mom loves the staff and takes part in many activities. I was there when she had an exercise class. The staff member was awesome with the residents. Upbeat, encouraging, cute, and full of energy. I took part in the class as well and it was fun! My mom is out of her room from 8 in the morning talking to the other residents, taking part in sing alongs, games, socials, therapy animals are brought in, student shows, and more. The food is very good. They have snacks and drinks readily available as well. It is so much better than your elderly parent being home alone.
This place is beautiful inside. Very clean and well kept. My sisters and I could not be happier we chose the Bristal at Lake Grove for Mom!

As with most things in life appearance is only a part of the complete package.
While the Bristal at Lake Grove is a very attractive structure, much like an upscale hotel, the true value is the staff! The staff I have encountered are caring and show a real interest in my wellbeing. The bottom line is that this is my home and I feel fortuned to me here!

The Bristal at Lake Grove was very nice. When I went there, everyone seemed to be having fun. I went into the recreation area, and the people seemed happy there. They had an outdoor pool, and it was very clean and very nice. The person that I was dealing with was Jennifer and she was very nice. They would evaluate you and I guess you have to go by their decision. Jennifer was persistent but very nice because I did not have an appointment when I went in. I brought my mother-in-law in there and they were kind enough to show us around and give us a good tour. I remember talking to them and seeing a printout of the rooms, and they all appeared to be about the same size.
They had printouts in the receiving area that give you an idea about everything that goes on there. It's like a book that you just go through and it shows you the different rooms and the prices for the different rooms. They had a wonderful menu also. They had activities that were going on while we were there. They were tossing a ball over a net and this was in this room and everybody was participating. They have another room where you could just go and have coffee and little snacks. They had a pretty nice movie room. It was set up like a movie theater and you could go in there and have popcorn. They made popcorn. I should give up my house and go into these things. It's so much easier.
The amenities were great. They had a movie room, a coffee room, and recreation areas with a big volleyball net up and they were playing with blowup beachballs so that nobody got hurt. I thought it was very cool. If you don't want to join, you can just go sit somewhere. You don't have to have dinner there. The only thing that my mother-in-law was not that thrilled about is that they assign seating. You get sat at a table and you don't know them. At that time, I did not ask if you could change. I'm sure they would allow you to change. Everybody seemed to be entertaining everybody and having a good time, that's why I like to go when it's not a tour. I like to just go in whenever I'm passing by and say "Do you have time to show me around?" and they were very accommodating there.

With a spacious living room, kitchenette and separate bedroom with large closets, this is perfect for someone that wants something homey and comfortable.
When my MIL was unable to care for herself I called someone I knew that had several contacts within Assisted Living. I asked him if his loved one had to choose a place where would he choose and he told me the Bristol. We toured 2 other assisted living facilities, and then The Bristol at Lake Grove and she instantly loved it. She said it reminded her of a 5 start hotel.
As she settled in she enjoyed her meal companions in the dining hall , the movies and playing Bingo. She had her hair done in the salon and knew an aid was just a button away. Sadly just 2 1/2 months after she arrived COVID hit. Though we were unable to visit for several months we spoke often and she always told me how wonderful the staff was and how eager to make her life more comfortable. She told me ,while there is no place like home, this is the next best thing, a wonderful place with great people.
Sadly mom passed away this past December. The Bristol did everything they could to allow family visits and showed her the upmost compassion. I will always be grateful for the care they gave not only my MIL, but our family.

The Bristal at Lake Grove is an absolutely wonderful place!!
In April 2019 our family had a devastating loss. Our mother passed away and our Dad, after 57 years of marriage, was living on his own. Upon deciding he did not want to live alone, we began researching assisted living facilities.
From the moment we walked into the elegant lobby of The Bristal at Lake Grove, for our tour, we were greeted warmly and immediately felt welcome. Jennifer Rubino was so comforting and knowledgeable, we felt like we were meeting with an old friend.
In Sept. 2019 our Dad moved into The Bristal at Lake Grove with great ease. The reception he received and continues to receive from both the residents and the staff, has been a true blessing! He has made many new friends. The compassion the staff members demonstrate and the way they interact with the residents is heartwarming.
There are many activities available to the residents throughout the day and evening. Our Dad tries to participate in as many as he can; a few of his favorites are balloon volleyball, Wii bowling and Bingo. Our family enjoys the activities with the residents and staff as well.
The pleasurable environment we have found at The Bristal has become a new home to our Dad and our family, and has put a smile back on his face. Thank you to everyone at The Bristal at Lake Grove!

I can only say good things. My mom moved here a few months ago after she had a health crisis soon after my dad passed and living alone was no longer viable. . It was a huge life changing move for her . She has thrived and adjusted so well. The staff is wonderful on all levels and the care, assitance, attention and affection is wonderful. The place is clean and beautiful. She is happy and we as a family as well.

The Bristal at Lake Grove was beautiful, but they didn't provide as much help as we needed for Mom. I saw what I liked about it, but if my mom would need more care she would have to move. I only met one staff member and she was OK.

I thought the Bristal Assisted Living at Lake Grove was very nice. We did not get to see many of the residents since we were there on a Sunday, and there were a lot of women, a lot of walkers, not wheelchairs, and canes, but it was very nice. The staff was fine. I saw some happy ladies who were going down the hallways, cleaning, and the rooms were lovely. I thought the one-bedroom was quite spacious, and certainly perfect for a single male. There were nice, big closets, the kitchenette was very nice, very airy, impressive, and the bathroom was big and roomy as well. They had bingo, outdoor swimming pool, a putting green, a craft room, a pool table, a card table in a separate area, an exercise room, and a movie theater. I thought it was very nice. We were looking at basic assisted living. The gentleman who took us around filled in, and he was OK and helpful, but he wasn't really upbeat. The backyard was lovely, but the overall setting wasn't as attractive.

The Bristal in Lake Grove is beautiful. Like a grand hotel. Right down to the automatic playing piano in the lobby. They have a bistro, where you can get coffee, tea, juices and snacks 24 hours a day, large dining room, private dining room, theater, bingo room, several common areas etc. Staff are friendly, while they last. The turnover rate is horrible. Once the residents get to know and like someone, they're gone. The rate for rooms is ridiculous. My grandmother pays over $6000 per month for a studio. The studio is a nice size but that's a bit much. Unfortunately, they don't give any of their income to their employees or they would probably stay longer. As of right now they are low on staff. If you have their staff do the laundry your relative more than likely have some issues with getting all of their items back or get other residents items. The staff tries but they are bombarded with extra work since there are not enough of them. They do try to accommodate you as much as possible. Luckily, either my mother or I are there every day, even if it's only a quick visit. We have had to make quite a few complaints, most a remedied quickly. Others need extra reminding! I just believe with the amount they charge all the residents, they could give their employees a bit more to keep them loyal and happy.

The Bristal is a very nice, beautiful, brand-new facility with a memory unit called Reflections where my mom will be going. They have more care there and an enhanced license, which helps because Mom has long-term insurance. The staff has been wonderful and helpful. The rooms are beautiful.

Our 90 year old Mom was very reluctant to leave her home. After much encouragement and two visits we convinced her to try The Bristal at Lake Grove. She moved in early January and she can't be happier. She has met new friends and enjoyed many of the activities. This gives our family a great piece of mind. It's a wonderful place.

I visited Bristal Assisted Living at Lake Grove was gorgeous. I would recommend it, but I’m looking for independent-living. They are really not offering much for independent elders. I cook, and they don’t have kitchens. The staff was very pleasant, outgoing, and inviting. The dining area is beautiful, but I didn’t taste any of their food. The menu looked very nice.
They have a theater, exercise room, a card room, and there’s a room where you can get a snack anytime of the day or night. They have all the amenities as far as facilities are concerned. Everything was very well done.
The only problem with that is I think their cost is $5500 a month, but then they have an ala carte for additional services. So if you needed them to help you with medications or anything in addition to just the basic; each item costs something every day. It becomes extremely expensive. It’s very clean, well appointed, and elegant place.

The Bristal was brand-new. So, it was spotless. The people were very friendly, and accommodating. Mom’s best friend was in there. It was most beautiful, but it still was more of that nursing home, and not as independent as my mom needed.

For now The Bristal is working out fine for my aunt. It was a very beautiful facility, it was brand new, and it really was like a luxury hotel. I can't think of anything they didn't have. It was beautifully decorated. The staff was very caring and friendly. We had a wonderful lunch in a beautiful dining room. They have a swimming pool, so I don't think they're missing anything; they even have a playroom for young children visiting. My aunt had decided to go there, and then at the last minute, I think she couldn't give up her things.
The rooms were beautiful.
You could see that they were really caring. It would have been a place where all her needs would be met. They look very attentive. I would have had no worries if she would have gone there.

The Bristal at Lake Grove was beautiful and brand new, and there was more to offer, but I couldn't afford anything more than a studio there. I really wanted to have a one-bedroom apartment, but they were more expensive. The staff seemed very friendly and very helpful. The apartment was very nice. It had a kitchen area, but no stove. You're not allowed to cook a meal, but they did have a sink, a microwave, and a refrigerator. The unit was bright and cheerful, and it was brand new, so there's nothing really wrong with it yet, and I did like it. If I could've afforded it, I probably would have chosen that. They had a more diversified menu, more choices on the menu, and more activities available. They had an outdoor swimming pool and an in-house beauty parlor. They had a lot of common areas there. They even had a family room that you could reserve for the day and have your family come and spend the day with you. It had a kitchen, you could cook in there with your family, and you could have your own little private dining room.

The Bristal at Lake Grove was very nice. It was brand new. The rooms were OK. They were expensive. They gave us breakfast, which was nice. They also gave us a little gift bag. I would recommend it.

The Bristal was very impersonal. It was brand new, and the rooms were fabulous, but I wasn't happy with the staff or the security.
