Atria South Setauket was a very nice place, but the hallways were narrow. We also didn't like the elevator because it could only fit two people. If somebody is in a wheelchair, it would be really difficult. The rooms were very nice. The staff was very helpful. The dining area looked very nice. They had a lot of activities like bingo, mahjong, and trips outside the facility.

I did a tour of Atria South Setauket. They took us to two different sites within the facility there. One part for assisted living and one part for advanced care. Some of the apartments have a kitchenette.
They had a lot more activities and schedules. They have a beauty salon. They have more planned activities, and they have a rehab on site. The staff were very knowledgeable. They were friendly and welcoming. The residents were the same: very friendly and very welcoming. It was a nice experience. The facility was nice and clean. The grounds were clean.

Atria South Setauket was a wonderful facility. They were welcoming, the facility was clean, and the host I met was very helpful, explained everything in detail, and showed me around the place twice. When I went back with my mother, she took the time to explore options both with assisted living and alone living. They have a facility next door through a tunnel.
The staff was friendly and very warm. The people were outgoing. The rooms were very satisfactory. They're private. They had a bath, but no kitchen. The staff gifted me with a cake when I left from their chef. The dining area was like a restaurant, and it was very nice. It was four tables throughout. They had a dining service and they had a menu to choose from. The staff waited on them and brought the food they ordered.
They had a wellness center where a doctor comes twice a week. They had a salon, a hall, a movie room, and a great room where they do bingo and other social events. There was a wellness center with exercise equipment. The place was very clean, but it was a little dated. They were in the midst of some construction in the independent living area.

Atria South Setauket was very nice. The layout was nice. They had everything that you could want. We wanted my father to go in there, but things did not work out and he passed away. The staff was very helpful. The rooms were nice sized, depending on what you wanted. They were nice, clean, and seemed updated. I didn't get to try the food, but they gave me banana bread when I left. I got to meet the chef. It was a very nice tour, and I got to meet a lot of the people that ran the recreation. They have a different menu for each day and you get an assortment of things whether you want hot or just sandwiches. It was very good. I wanted to go there. They had a large dining room. I wanted my mother-in-law to go in there. My sister and I had both toured it for my father. I thought it was very nice. The staff was very competent and nice. I saw a lot of people working with people. It was very clean. I've been in places that stink, but this was very clean and very nice. They would evaluate the person when they came in to see if they needed help with medication or things like that, so they went beyond the assisted living, but they charge separately for that if you need a little bit more advanced care.

I toured Atria South Setauket yesterday. I'm hoping my mother will move there on August 1st. It's very well kept, bright, and caring. It seems fine. It seems like a nice, beautiful hotel, dining room, and everything. We're sold with it. They have a movie theater, a beauty salon, and an outdoor pool.

My visit to Atria South Setauket was very good; the salesperson was also very nice. We had a very lovely tour. The thing that we realized we would not like about it was the dining room was underground, and there was this tunnel that filled with water from the rain. It was just so unpleasant, the dining room just had no windows. It was underground. That was not something we were happy with. A lot of the things are in the basement, the social activity rooms and such. Although they pointed out that some of them actually had windows, it didn't turn out to be the kind of facility that we would want for our father.
We saw the rooms and they seemed fine, but the dining room situation was extremely unpleasant. My father is tired of cooking, and so he'd like to be eating meals someplace, and that would not be an attractive situation.

We saw the assisted living and the independent living of Atria South Setauket. In the independent they could have a girl come in and help you even for 20 minutes or half an hour. Assisted living is where you need someone for five hours a day or three hours a day, or for showers at night. That place is great; I really like it.
It's 30 minutes away from me, and for my sister it would be an hour, so we're not sure with Atria South Setauket, but we absolutely love it. The apartment was beautiful, it was like having a mini-apartment. The staff was very nice, she was excellent, and she really went above and beyond to help us with our budget and everything. The facility was beautiful and very nice.

I was able to go to Atria South Setauket. It seemed very nice, but I chose a smaller place for my aunt. I saw both the assisted and independent living and they were very nice. I only saw the admission director and she was fine. The apartment was very nice and excellent. They have a whole calendar and stuff for activities. I saw the dining area, but I didn't really look closely at it. Some of the rooms had doors so you could go outside, which was really nice.

I went to Atria South Setauket. The food was good, there were two aides that were very good. I was going to move in there. It was very nice, I liked it a lot, but they had some bugs. I had a cup of tea, she went to pour the hot water in the tea, and there was gnat in the cup. They were very polite, they served the food, and they seemed very good. I wanted to live there.

Atria South Setauket was very clean and nice. Everybody, including the staff, was very welcoming and very friendly. The dining area was kept up very nice. I saw the residents playing some card games with one another. They had nice grounds outside to walk on. The upkeep was very good. It's a nice place for your loved one to go.

I like Atria a lot. The staff members are very attentive. I have been very happy with them; they all know my mother-in-law. I have not had one complaint in five years. My mother-in-law was in independent living for two-and-a-half years before moving into assisted living. She has a nice studio room. It used to be Holiday Inn, so it's a good size studio. The food is good. They have three meals a day. The residents are not allowed to miss more than one meal, so they make them go to dinner. They have a lot of activity throughout the day too. They have trips in their small bus. Their activities are great for old people, but my mother-in-law doesn't do anything. The price is compatible with others and even a little lower than some.

Atria in South Setauket has a facility that is called independent apartments or independent living suites. These are apartments for people who are not so incapacitated, but they provide meals and everything. My mother is bedridden. What they have done is that I am paying for an apartment that has a bed amd a little sitting area, I have a 24/7 aide staying with her, and the place is immaculate. It is clean. The staff is friendly. It is bright and very good for elderly care. They cannot do enough to help me. They are really great.

We are currently using Atria South Setauket for our loved one. We chose it for its location, its cleanliness, and the staff. They have movies almost daily, they have bingo, musical entertainments, they have church services, and they offer beauty salon services. It is not extremely large and it has homey effect. There appears to be about a hundred residents, so it’s not too big and not too small.
It is also very attractive looking. The grounds are very well kept and the staff is very friendly when we first walked in. The staff members seem to be very attentive. They offer services to doctor’s appointments that you can sign-on. They have in-house doctors and the doctors come on a regular basis, so you change your primary care to their doctors. That makes it convenient because you do not have to go out even though they arrange transportation.

My parents were at Atria Assisted Living in Setauket. They got good care there; it was just that my parents needed more care. The studio apartments were modestly furnished and modestly set up. The food was good. As a whole, they met all our needs, but my parents needed more attention.

We really liked Atria. It was more of an apartment type feel, and surrounded by people. It has a beautiful restaurant type eating area. The lady that gave us the tour was absolutely fabulous, not rushed. They had a bus that can go to malls, and grocery shopping. They go an extra mile. It did not seem like any type of nursing home or assisted living. It just seem like a complex. The location was fabulous. She had sisters, and cousins nearby.

My father has been in Atria South Setauket for 3 1/2 years now. The place has met all of our needs. It has a very friendly, warm staff. They help you out if you need to be helped out. They're expensive, but you get what you pay for, and I appreciate the way they take care of him. I have eaten many meals there. We've had family meals in their family room, and they've all been fine, but my father doesn't like the food. Every day, you can have a hotdog, hamburger or grilled cheese and a lot of other things if you don't like the main course. They need a little bit more recreation going on there, though. There are too many people that just sit in their chairs all day, but they do show a movie at night.

Atria South Setauket was probably the best one that we saw. I would give it a very high rating. They're very friendly and very secure. They seemed to know all of the people who were in the complex. They're very nice people. I would rate them as excellent.

My wife has been in Atria for six months now. The food is good, and I’ve eaten there many times. It’s an older facility, and the downside is all the rooms are just studios. You’re allowed a refrigerator, but there’s no kitchenette. The staff is excellent. I know everybody; they’re very personable and friendly. They play Bingo, 21, they go on trips, and they have a movie every night. They have a theater room with a 55 or 60-inch TV. They have day trips to Walmart, Lowe’s, and Marshalls, and they also go to restaurants sometimes. I have nothing bad to say about it. It’s really a nice place, and my wife is happy there.

The Atria is very close to where I work. It's about 15 to 20 minutes away from my house. It's an old hotel, but inside they've made it very nice. It was very clean and very kept up, and even though I knew my mother wouldn't do them, they had more activities, and the food choices seemed much, much better there than where my mother is. They have a fish course every day. To me, it was a better place, but my mother didn't want to move. It was also more expensive.
I've looked at a lot of other facilities, and it seemed to be comparable to where she lives. I was only in the assisted living area, and it seemed there were people coming and going. Some people were in wheelchairs, and some people have walkers. I didn't see anything that looked bad. I didn't see anybody who seemed to be in distress. Everything seemed to be OK.
They have two types of yoga, either stand-in yoga or chair yoga. They have exercise classes. There's always bingo. They had eight things every day on the calendar that people could choose from, a lot of buses going out to local shops and stores. Wal-Mart is right across the street. They had a lot of activities on their social calendar.

My father is 94 and always tells me how well he is taken care of. I know when I can not get there to see him they make sure they he gets out for a walk in good weather. They respect his dignity by keeping his mind occupyied by talking to him about things that interest him, like being in the war and where he grew up. They are very respectful of his feelings. A day doesn't go by that I don't thank God for such a wonderful place.

Atria South Setauket was very nice. It was close by my mother's home, that's why she considered it. But it was a long distance from the room to the dining room. Also, the rooms were very small, It's like a hotel with a one tv room. We viewed the dining room, it was lovely. We also looked at the menu. They seemed to have a lot of things. They take people off on two vans to concerts. I recalled they have bingo and my mom said it's for old people! But it was a little constrictive for someone who hasn't lived in an apartment. I would want to live at Atria South Setauket because it's very attractive and pleasant.

Atria of South Setauket is an attractive facility. It's neat, clean, and very open. The staff was very, very nice. I even looked and sampled the menu, but I didn’t like the food there at all. I didn’t like their menu because I saw that they had a lot of chicken and a lot of tilapia fish and I just didn’t care for that. They don’t have an indoor pool and I think that is so important at this stage of life. I have arthritis and that's important to me.

Atria is an old Holiday Inn. The smell is horrible. It's right on the highway, I didn't like that. The elevator is tiny.
