Peregrine Senior Living at Delmar Place. It was very good. It's a nice facility and it's not. It's set back off the road. My first impression there must sound kind of bad, but like every person had a walking device, whether a cane or a walker or whatever. And I was wondering if that's because everybody that goes there, their PT recommends that, or everybody there has a physical disability. I guess they're old people. But I've been to seven facilities and this is the first one where every person had something. It doesn't mean anything about their mental status, but it's just something I noticed. Plus, their reception area was kind of like right next to the front door, but like on the side of the door, and then you're facing the dining room when you walk in. And I didn't really like that layout. They had a little garden area, and their outdoor spaces were nice.

My mother was at Peregrine Senior Living at Delmar Place. I was completely dissatisfied from the absolute beginning. It was very disappointing. They sent my mom to the hospital and she ended up staying there. The first month, she probably stayed there not even half of the month. Then the second month, they sent her back for a week, and then they sent her back again to the hospital. Then from the hospital, they sent her to a physical therapy unit for six weeks. Every chance they sent my mom to the hospital even for a simple thing as a rash. They weren't able to take care of that in-house. They have no physician on staff, they just have an RN. The first day that my mom stayed there, I had to go back there to administer her meds or she wouldn't have gotten them because the technician, who is not even an LPN, was incapable of giving her her medications after I had them all setup and ready to go. The place has been in renovation since my mom moved in there in August. Her room was decent, but the hallways were under construction. The carpeting needs to be replaced. The good thing about the place is they keep the residents busy with their activities.

I visited Peregrine Senior Living at Delmar Place. It was very nice and the people seemed friendly. The rooms were excellent. If you need any help at all, you'd have to pay for that separately, and it would ramp up the cost pretty fast. The activities that I saw were excellent, they had people come in, and they had guest speakers and game nights. They have a variety of things to do.

My mom is moving into Peregrine Senior Living at Delmar Place. I chose it for proximity to where I live. They have all kinds of things going on, and I'm sure she'll find something that she likes there. I did meet the activities director earlier this week actually. When I toured through there, I think there was music going on in the activity room. I like that location better because it was surrounded by trees. It was quiet. It's close to everything, but you wouldn't know it by walking around outside because it was surrounded by trees. It was what she was looking for. She didn't want to look over a parking lot or anything like that. They were all very nice, and I've been working with the community relations director, Erin. She has been fantastic as far as telling us what we need to do, how we need to do this, and how to get everything in order to get her ready to be moved. It's been very helpful because we have not been through this before. I was impressed with the facility itself and the people there.

My father was here. The staff was incredibly attentive. Everybody knew him by his first name. There was never anybody that didn't seem to know him. They just seemed to really care about the people that they were taking care of. My dad really liked the staff a lot. He probably had a better relationship with the staff members than the other residents. The place was immaculately clean. They never had a COVID outbreak when he was there. They were very proactive with the pandemic. Because they were locked down in their rooms, they really went out of their way to do enrichment and put on special events that they would do door-to-door and online. It felt more like a family there than an assisted living place. They always knew my dad was up for getting coffee and doughnuts, so they would make a Dunkin' Donuts run. I really liked the facility and the staff. They were topnotch and they had really good food. Everything was really exceptional. He didn't participate in a lot of the activities, but the ones he did he really enjoyed.

My mother is doing fine in the assisted living. Her room is not spacious, but it's clean. Most of the staff members are very caring, and have activities for her to do like bingo and card games. Some of their facilities include a beauty salon, activity rooms, library, and multiple sitting areas.

My parents decided to move here about three years ago. When my father died a year ago, the staff was extremely helpful towards the end. He needed an awful lot of assistance. My mother on the other hand really needs nothing. They just give her medicines to her, and she is doing really well. The bedroom area of the apartment was a little small, and the closets are good for a single resident. The living area and the bathroom are extremely nice. It is a very nice place. There is plenty of space. I eat there frequently with my mother, and the food is very good. The proportions are adequate when they are served, but if people are still hungry or want a second meal, they do not have a problem getting it. The service is quick, and the dining room is very nice. There is plenty of space around the tables. People with wheelchairs and walkers have very easy access into and out of the room. They also have a family dining room that can be used when there are a couple of family members visiting a resident, and they provide a waiter and waitress service for it. They have bingo, exercise classes, walking club, entertainment, movie nights, church services, shopping trips, and transportation. They do a lot, and the people are relatively active. The security is pretty good. They have alarms on the doors. They have an attendant at the desk, and they lock the doors on the outside about 8 o’clock. They also have a full generator emergency backup service.
