My mother is currently staying in The Bristal at Holtsville and we love it. It's just that they have raised their prices so much, so it's unaffordable to us now. This place has everything. They have a terrific movie theater, they have great crafts, and they have nice social events. All in all, I'm not happy that we have to move her out of there, the family is very upset. It's just a shame that with today's prices, we'd have to do it but we have no choice. She's been there for three years now but they're raising their rates and not being very compassionate to the residents and their finances. The staff and employees are very nice and caring, and it's not their fault that this is a business and they're not in control of the price rise. I never tasted the food there but my mother says the food is delicious, the people I've talked to also say it's delicious and it always smells good whenever I go there. I see residents having plenty of activities, they have lots of arts and crafts, and trips, and they have bingo every day. They keep them occupied. When it comes to amenities, they have everything including a salon, and a gym, they have a bistro where the residents go to meet and talk and hang out, and they have a wonderful movie theater. They also have bus trips and the bus is always there, it's available for them. The prices for the place itself are just unaffordable, but they offer very good care. She's at the top level of care and I'd have to say that she gets excellent care.

My mother-in-law is at The Bristal at Holtsville. There are a lot of activities going on all the time and they've got a beautiful bistro. The rooms are on the larger side. with nice bathrooms and easily accessible showers. Her room is very nice, she's got a little area with a microwave, and then it's got a separate area with a nice large bathroom. The staff is very good but the food's not good, they don't have a good chef. When she moved in they had somebody pretty good, and then it's gone downhill and it's really poor now. She doesn't do that much, but they have everything from crafts and they've got a nice theater. It's a high-end place and they do a lot of entertaining for them, they have people come in to perform, and they've got a pool that no one uses. It's too expensive, at about $8,000 plus.

The overall atmosphere of the facility is bright and cheery. The rooms are more than adequate. There are numerous separate activity rooms and social areas. My mother who is extremely picky is more than happy with the food! The staff is outstanding--their level of care and concern for the residents is apparent and sincere. Sara is a doll! she has gone out of her way to make us feel happy with our decision to help our Mom make this move

THANKYOU to all the staff for making this transition for my mom so seemless. Her room is big and sunny and clean. Everything/everywhere is sooo clean. The staff is extremely attentive, friendly and super inviting. After a year of Covid isolation, it is so nice to see my mom smile again.

My dad has moved to The Bristal at Holtsville, he just went in yesterday. We chose it because of recommendations from friends and family, the location, and their reputation. The staff is lovely, they're very efficient, they're very on top of everything and I'm very happy with the way they deal with the family. They don't keep you in the dark, they tell you everything. It's up to the family to decorate everything in the rooms. His room is a nice size, set up very nicely, and I have no problems whatsoever with it. The dining room actually looks like a restaurant, it's lovely. They have groups, they go on trips, and there's a movie theater. There's also a salon, there's a common room where people visit with each other and there's a library. There's a number of things you can do but I have not investigated any of them because my dad isn't using all that at this point. For the money they're charging, I've seen many expensive facilities that don't offer as much.

The Bristal at Holtsville is a beautiful facility. It's very clean and the apartments are very nice. They're very nicely laid out as compared to a lot of the ones we've seen. There were problems that are getting ironed out. They need more staffing. The staff seems to turnover quickly, but overall so far, it's been pretty good. Their cafeteria has a wide variety of food every day and it's pretty good. The rooms are very nice and very spacious, and they have a tremendous amount of storage. They have a salon one day a week and they have all kinds of activities going on all the time. They have five different entrees every day.

The Bristal at Holtsville was a very nice, new place. It was only about one-third filled when we did our tour. It was a little less expensive than the other community we toured. There was an exercise class going on when we walked through the facility.
