I visited Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills. I had a guided tour. From what I saw, I felt quite OK with that place. I also heard other people living there, and they had very good comments about it. They said they have been to many different places and when they ended up there, they were pretty happy. It's a little bit rundown, but they said they're going to do interior renovations. Each time a person will move in, they're going to renovate the place. In general, I feel that it's a good place for mom. The person who runs the place is very responsible and gave me a very nice introduction.
I only went to see the dining place. There were some people there. It was lunchtime, and it was pretty busy. I had a quick look at the menu. It's open dining and restaurant style. It's like a banquet hall. Considering the current condition of the pandemic, I think it's good that they have a certain distance. They even have the plastic screens set up. I think it was considerate.
They have a flexible program. It is something I actually felt attracted to because this gives more flexibility for each person's different conditions. If a person deteriorates with their health, their assistance need will increase. They give this flexibility to the program, and they're more accommodating. It's not like a fixed program where there's one pair of pants for everybody to wear. I think that's very positive because everybody's situation (especially the elderly) changes. They need a different degree of assistance at different times. This place give them the flexibility. I think that's a very smart way of organizing as well.
You can be independent, and there's also degree of different assistance. For people who have Alzheimer's, they have a different division. It's well organized because they will accommodate you depending on your health condition. If you need certain help, you can add on to the program. A different degree of service has a different price. There's a mini kitchen in the room. Mostly it's a single/private room setting. They have a courtyard in their garden, which is good for the elderly. They can go out for some fresh air, instead of sitting beside the freeway.

My mom moved into Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills. So far, everything is okay. The staff members were very nice. I wish that there were exercise classes, but there aren't any. I don't know if it's because of COVID. I know they offer bingo, and they have puppies that come in from a shelter or something, which is lovely because seniors love pets.
She's in assisted living, so she's taking care of herself. They have staff members knocking on her door when she doesn't come down for dinner, or lunch, or breakfast. They oversee that she understands the time and that she comes down on time. If she's in her room for a very long time, they knock on the door to find out how she's doing. They invite her down.

Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills needs renovation. It wasn't a good experience. It was not a pleasant place. They are in the process of redoing the place, but it wasn't good. The staff was very nice. The dining area needs renovation. I was turned off when I went inside. They need to update the facility.

We've just been setting in here at Castle Senior Living and Valina has been wonderful. She gone above and beyond our expectations helping us and orienting us for life at the facility. Also, our first meal was wonderful and delicious!!!

My mom is not very happy at Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills. It's a nice setting and everything was good, but she is in a shared room with someone. She is used to being alone, and it's like a responsibility for her being with someone else. Her roommate is older than she is, and my mom would try to assist her when she can't. It's not her job to do that.
They have amenities like a therapy room, an activity center, a library, and a dining room, but they haven't been doing any activities since COVID. It's in a good neighborhood, too. The bus stop is not too far off, and I can get there in fifteen minutes to visit with her. Visitors are only allowed from the outside, so I haven't been able to go in yet, but the staff was good.

Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills is lovely. We're happy about it because mom's safe. She's well now, and she's doing pretty good. I would recommend it. It's very, very clean. There are younger folks there. My mother's old, but she doesn't think she's old. They give her medicine, they have a doctor on-staff, they have a nurse on every floor, the nurse checks in on her, and they help her shower. They have a walk-in shower. The staff is absolutely lovely. They're very, very kind to my mother. When we first got her in there, she didn't want to be there, she wanted to go home. She's been there a little less than a month now.
She loves the food. We got to phone her on New Year's Eve, and she was so happy to hear from us. We had a very short visit because they really don't let you in. They let her talk to us through the doorway. It feels like you're in a mini-hotel. They let us bring her own bed, electric recliner, and her TV, but they provide all that. It has a kitchenette, a microwave, and a sink, and she can make herself a cup of tea. She has a little refrigerator there, too. It's adorable.
They're really accommodating. You really still can't visit, but the staff said to me I can walk her outside for like 10 minutes. They have bingo, television rooms on each floor with a big screen TV, they can watch movies together, and they also take them on trips, but because of COVID, they're not doing that now. I was very surprised when I saw the place. It was spotless and immaculate. They provide three meals a day and three snacks a day. I was very, very impressed.

I can't imagine feeling more secure, protected, and content than I am here in the spacious building surrounded by friendly and helpful caregivers. It's both energizing and comforting. I can go down to the first floor to sit and have a smoke at night in the lovely backyard. I have all that I need!

Castle Senior Living offered my Aunt a nurturing, consistently caring environment throughout her time there. They did an outstanding job with arranging her care and comfort. The entire team was professional, positive, and respectful. Everything went smoothly because of their excellence. They provided quality care.

I really like Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills. But they did not have any accommodations at the moment. They were very nice, very sweet, and more organized. The elderly that we saw looked very happy, and they were being taken care of, plus they have additional amenities for their senior living. They have a bank on site, the dining area and the backyard is beautiful, and it was a very active place. They followed the dietary request of each patient, and they monitored them, so they can detect anyone that hasn't showed up for dinner. They don't have public transportation in the area, you have to find a bus a couple of blocks away, and it's very secluded, but other than that when you get to the site, the place is very good.

I am writing this review to compliment the experience I had in the private dining room. My mother had a visit from her niece nephew and grandniece. They were most accommodating to set up the dining room and Daniella, our server was most attentive. I felt like I was in a 5 star hotel. Thank you so much!

The facilities at Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills were nice. They can deal with walkers, but wheelchair-bound would be a problem. It was overall attractive. They offer three meals a day and had TV lounges, places for social gatherings, and a little cafe where they can get snacks and beverages. The staff was very nice and very informative. It was very immaculate.

My friend moved into a small room in Castle Senior Living. They have bingo and a couple of other meetings, but I think they should be able to have more activities for the people there. I had a meal there, and it was very good. The people seemed very friendly and nice to everybody who's there, but we do have one incident that hasn't been resolved for two weeks now.

I have selected Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills for my mom. I'm very pleased. They have physical therapy, a wellness center, community card games place, a community TV place, and a beautiful courtyard where they can go out and sit. They do shopping trips to various places, stores and malls, which is what she likes to do. They have bingo, mah-jong, cards, word search, puzzles, artwork, and dancing. It's very clean. So far, I have not had any complaints with the staff. She's only there not even a month yet. She definitely loves the food. She enjoys the activities, and she's happy and pleased with them. Price is comparable for what she could afford. It's top-notch care.

Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills' staff was very nice, and the physical structure was nice. It was fine, and they provided a lot of services. It was a very busy and crowded area.

Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills was OK, but it did not "wow" me. It used to be a hotel, so the rooms were very small. The woman who assisted me was very nice and manageable. To me, it felt more like a nursing home because the residents were just sitting around, playing cards, and reading. They have a country kitchen where the residents could get snacks. It was OK, but the rooms were really tiny, and I know my mother would not like it there.

Our experience with Castle Senior Living was very good. They were very attentive, very nice, very social, very clean, and very caring. They had a social calendar. They had bingo, music, and outings. They had a library, and they had activities.
We chose it because it was in the neighborhood. We had our mother-in-law there, and we were very happy with it.

Castle Senior is very good. They are all Hebrew, and they serve Jewish meals. Wonderful meals from what I see. The room situation that I looked at was with a roommate. There is going to be two in a room. It is very clean and quite nice. The grounds are nice, and you can sit outside. You can't bring guests to up to your room because you have a roommate. They can bring them downstairs where they can buy refreshments. They have a lot of activities planned. They have physical time in the morning for about a half hour. They have a weight room and a computer room. It's very beautiful facility with beautiful dining rooms. I have some more medical problems to take care of, otherwise I would be there now.

My mom lived at Castle for a number of years and for most of this time she had little needs. When her needs changed I had to deal with the Case Managers and Welness more closely. The Case Managers are incompetent and uncaring. They were not comforting at all!!! They were menacing to me and left me wondering how they could possibly have their jobs!!! No people skills at all. Some of the staff at Welness were competent but most were very lax. The Director is wonderful!!! She is caring and approachable!!! The Case Managers are disgraceful!!!!

My friend is a resident there. I've been visiting the facility for five years so far. I've noticed some issues over the years but not such a big deal until the past 10 months. My friend has had some real health concerns in the past year and it seems the wellness department and management has not done much to address our concerns. My friend was told that he should look for a new place instead of them the health professionals and management working to fix their inadequacy. Very unhappy and frustrated. I urge my friend to find another place to live soon.

My mom has only been in Castle Senior Living for 2 or 3 days, and so far they seem to be reasonably good. I was very impressed with the staff. The people there were competent, professional and caring. Their services were reasonably pleasant, reasonably in evidence. It was good locationally; convenient to where she was before.

Castle Senior Living seems okay. I spoke to people there and I think the staff is okay. But they seem a little tighter to me.

My friend Paul is a resident at Castle Senior Living in Forrest Hills, NY. I often visit on the weekends to keep him company and catch up on his week's events. The facility is very clean and offers a lot of activities. Paul especially enjoys working with the recreation staff who arrange chess tournaments, movie outings, discussion groups, and gardening. Everyone, from the chef, who sometimes comes out to greet us while we have lunch, to the person at the front desk, is friendly and willing to go the extra mile. The amenities are very nice, Castle has a very attentive housekeeping staff that really keep the resident's room and common areas looking great. Castle Senior Living truly keeps Paul safe and I always enjoy visiting. I would definitely recommend this facility to others.
