The staff at Bright Side Manor is very friendly. My mom just moved in and is in quarantine, so she doesn't have the ability to walk around and participate in anything. All I can say is so far, so good. I chose this place because I was looking for a more reasonably priced community and also less care than her previous nursing facility. Bright Side is the only reasonable place in Bergen County, and they accept Medicaid, which no other place does. It's good for families who need something reasonable financially. It's in a nice location, it's in a family neighborhood, and the staff is really nice. They're building a new addition to the facility, too, so you're getting nice, new construction at the same time. You're getting more bang for the buck. They have activities listed that my mom would be interested in, but she's still in quarantine. But it looks good on paper.

Bright Side Manor was not good. It was a dark, dingy, and a very tight place. There was a water stain on the ceiling in the dining room. You could also smell the food as soon as you walk in the door. I saw a room which was just a shared room. The staff members were very nice and helpful, but the place needed an overhaul.

Bright Side Manor is a gift from God for my sister. It's extremely difficult to find a caring facility that accepts medicare / medicaid. I don't know what we would have done without Bright Side. She gets quality care, great food, and lots of activities. Thank God for Bright Side.
