Sunrise of Woodcliff Lake was a beautiful place. It didn't actually feel like a senior center or a nursing home. It actually felt like a home. The staff, the people, everyone welcomed you. The place was immaculate. I'd like to live there myself. It's really amazing. The lady showed me both the assisted living and memory care, and she was great. She was very phenomenal, very caring, very considerate, and very knowledgeable. They have a courtyard, too, and the rooms have a refrigerator, a microwave, and a walk-in shower.

Sunrise of Woodcliff Lake is beautiful, but it's a little far for my mother. Even though we were just walking, the staff greeted us and engaged with us. We didn't have big conversations but they acknowledged that we were there, and they were pleasant. Jessica, the person who gave us the tour, was forthcoming. She gave us a lot of good information, personal one-on-one, and seemed to get to know our mother and us, and our needs. Everything seemed very resident-focused, it just was lovely. they may all offer the same thing, but it's the way it's presented. They were renovating when we went there, but we didn't hold that against them. It just looks better and better. I didn't even think it was bad before, but they were still renovating. They have a gym but it's more for physical therapy. They have a hair salon, they have a little area where they can get snacks during the day, they're closed now, but eventually or post-COVID, they'll open again. They have lovely outdoor spaces, and one of the things I like about them is that they had an indoor porch and an outdoor porch.

From a tour perspective, Sunrise of Woodcliff Lake was excellent. They showed us everything, we like the staff and the people there, and it looked like a great place. We've only started our search, but we're already impressed with it. They're very nice and very informative, the staff seemed nice, the services seemed great, and the stream of attendants looked great. The rooms looked great, too, so we're very impressed, and we liked it. The tour was very good.

My mom has been in Sunrise of Woodcliff Lake for over five years now. It is an all-around nice facility. The people are very caring, and they've been excellent with her. She has enjoyed all five years that she's been there. She's got one of their turret rooms. If you look at the pictures of Sunrise, they have two turrets, one on each side, and they're like a semi-round room. She's got one of the biggest rooms in the facility, and she loves it. It's got six windows, really bright, and airy.
The staff is great and very attentive to her. She likes everyone that comes and helps her. She gets her medicine administered, and everybody was very nice, polite, and friendly. She's very happy there, and she likes the food. If I would take her out for the day, she'd always want to be back in time for dinner or lunch. She never liked missing a meal there. We also went there for a birthday party and they gave us one of their little private rooms. We had the family all come in, had a little birthday party, we all ate the food, and it was good.
They have a great musical director, and every day he plays music over the intercom to keep everybody going. He has a joke sheet that he passes around every day, so everybody gets to read jokes. He's just a very attentive person to their needs. She's actually hired him for one of her birthday parties to do the music, too. He's a very nice young man and he keeps them going, entertained, and he's always trying to have them smile. They have sing-alongs and sometimes they'll have musical guests come in. They have a lot of other activities. They have trivia, she's not into arts and crafts so much, but they have that, and she partakes in all of that, but mostly the singing is what she likes the most. The overall living atmosphere is very good, and it's a very clean facility.

My father moved into Sunrise of Woodcliff Lake. It's a very comfortable place. The staff is really attentive, and really nice. Every time I go there they seem super efficient and always welcoming. They helped my dad a lot in his physical therapy there. I've seen lots of improvement, I'm really happy with the place, and I think my father is very satisfied as well. He has a one-bedroom apartment, they have a variety of rooms, and from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. they have something different going on. They go on outings to shop, they go out for a ride, there are different games each day like bingo, playing cards, entertainment, they watch movies, and occasionally they have someone live to entertain them. They have a small library, a place where people can exercise, and a path outside around the facility where people can walk. I've only eaten there once, but it was very good. It's pricey, but every place I checked is pricey as well.

My mother-in-law stayed at Sunrise of Woodcliff Lake, which was very nice, but got too expensive. The apartment is nice, clean, and very well-kept. The staff and food were very good. They had music people come in to play the piano and they had exercises, which my mother-in-law took part in.

My dad was in Sunrise; it was wonderful, but it was too expensive. The care was less expensive, but the room was more expensive. Wound care for his diabetes was an additional $1100, and what started out very affordable ended up very costly.

The staff and the care they give at Sunrise of Woodcliff Lake are excellent. I’m there every day, and I can see that they are taking care of my mom and mother-in-law very well. They are very happy in this facility. When you walk in the door, it’s like walking into a house. It’s decorated nicely. There are activities happening every hour if you want to entertain yourself. My mother-in-law plays Rummikub every day at 1:00. They can also walk inside and outside, play bingo, go to the hair salon or physical therapy room, listen to music, and enjoy visiting entertainment. You name it, they have it there.

My mother has been there since being released from rehab due to cardiac triple-bypass surgery. She started on their 30-day "Road Home" program but, liked it so much, that she is now a permanent resident! Kudos to the staff, residents and the wonderful place that I love visiting her at. It is not too large and feels like a warm, beautiful home. I am so happy she is there participating in their long list of daily activities. She is a young 78 year old in the group but is having such a great time that it is hard to reach her on the phone in her room!

There’s only one thing we did not like about Sunrise of Woodcliff Lake, which was the room sizes. Since my grandfather would be moving with my grandmother, they are coming from a much larger home. He felt that their largest two-bedroom suite still feel a little too small for him. I thought it was sizeable enough for the situation since they would be out and about in the community and the rest of the living areas, but he is having a hard time adjusting to this concept. He felt that even though the suites are 500 to 550 sq.ft, it would probably be a little bit too small. That was the only issue with the facility. Everything else was amazing.
The tour was wonderful, the facility was clean, and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Everything looked really beautiful. The neighborhood was fine; we know it well. It’s in a bit more of a commercial area, but they had a beautiful garden in the back secluded far from the main road. Noise wasn’t an issue at all. They had all different kinds of activities: exercises, games, bingo, word puzzles, movie nights, and lots of musical performances.
The staff was friendly and nice but not knowledgeable. The woman who was doing our tour from admission was, I guess, transferred from the other department. We asked a number of questions that she didn’t know how to answer.

We moved my mother-in-law out of Sunrise because it was quite a distance from us. The place was very good. We just moved her closer to us. The staff was very professional. The rooms were very nice, upscale, very homey, beautiful, and spacious. They had bowling and Wii games; they also did bingo and that kind of stuff.
It was safe. There were no problems at all. Everybody was always right there when we came in. They had a maintenance man working on any problems that you have. They do it and fix it right away. There is good security around the premises -- locked doors in the back, that kind of thing. We did eat there, and the food was very good. I would say it was restaurant quality. The dining room was very nice and looked like a five-star restaurant. Very clean, very well-run, and you could order something even if it wasn't on the menu.
They could probably use a stand-by generator. One time the power went out, the people were downstairs, and they couldn't get up with no power in the elevator, so they had to hang around downstairs for a few hours because they couldn't get to their rooms.

Sunrise was very nice, and they were very helpful and very kind. My mother stayed there for three weeks. I noticed some activities, but my mother did not participate.

Sunrise of Woodcliff Lake was pretty much the same with the other Sunrise that I visited. However, they did not have interview, so I didn't know if they could offer my wife the services she needed. The rooms were very nice. I only met a couple of people, and they seemed fine.

My mother is in Sunrise of Woodcliff Lake. The rooms are lovely, the food is good, and the security is excellent. My only concern is that she is in the memory care unit, and I find her still staying in bed at 2 o’clock in the afternoon almost every day. I told the director that it is not appropriate, but it is still happening.
One of the things I am disappointed about is that my mother does not know how to play the games. I told the staff to teach her, and they said they will, but they did not. They also do not get her out of her room.

I was very impressed with Sunrise. The woman at the desk was very professional and friendly. I was shown two or three rooms and some paperwork. The place was very clean, attractive, and bright -- not depressing. They have pretty courts at the front and it was very appealing. They showed me the dining room and the rooms they have activities in. The dining room looked very nice. She also gave me a copy of the menu which was nice. It was also close to other things like the highway, clothing stores, decorating stores, food shopping place, and restaurants.

Mom is in Sunrise of Woodcliff Lake. The people are very nice, but they are understaffed. They can only do so much. They didn't get mom out of bed for three days and that is not okay with me. The doctor comes in, but they didn't call me and tell me what medications they changed. I understand that they can't force anybody to do anything, but nobody goes to get her up, and I see six trays of food sitting in her kitchenette. That is unacceptable to me.
I think there should be an in-between place between rehab and assisted living because she needs more help than what's she is having. I didn't yell at anybody because I know they are working hard there. On the other hand, it is called "assisted living," and they are supposed to assist them. I will suggest for them to have grief counseling for people whose spouse has just died, and for my mother who has just turned into a child. I want her to be happy for whatever time she has left. However, to me, it is more dangerous where she is at than she is at home. That's the way I feel and that is really true.

Sunrise of Woodcliff Lake is a beautiful facility, but it was out of my price range. The rooms are beautiful and well kept. They have excellent staff. The coordinator was very accommodating. They will take you out to the doctor within 10 miles. They also take you out to excursions if you are able to. They have in-house activities. They provide laundry service. They have a good chef for the food.

I visited Sunrise Senior Living. Right now my mother is still with me, but when the time comes I think that's where she'll go because they have so many programs available to seniors, particularly the memory care program. The staff is absolutely wonderful. The rooms are large. They either provide furniture or you can bring your own. The food is restaurant-quality and there are amazing food choices available. Thirty years ago when our grandparents were in facilities, they were awful, but it's not that way anymore.

My experience with Sunrise was both positive and negative. The facility was usually very tidy and the staff were very friendly. However, there was on occasion a foul smell. Also, on one occasion a resident had a digestive accident and it took longer than expected for the mess to be cleaned up. Other than that the place was friendly and welcoming.

My experience with this assisted living home was a wonderful one. The staff is excellent and, more importantly, really caring towards my grandfather. There is always staff on call 24 hours per day and are trained in emergency response techniques. This is able to give my family and I peace of mind while away from our grandfather. The area is amazing and easy to drive to. It is a beautiful facility that reminds me of the comforts of home. The price is decent for all the various perks this facility offers in comparison with other living homes. The food is amazing, at least the couple of times i have eaten there, and my grandfather has never had a complaint. Again I attribute this positive quality to the excellence and professionalism of the staff. There are tons of programs to keep residence happy, occupied and entertained. Really these events bring the community together and create a family bond within the facility. I am so glad we were able to find this facility for my grandfather, and i cannot explain the relief of stress that comes from knowing he is in good hands.
