My mom is at Carolina Village. They start out as independent living -- they have houses and apartments -- then you go into the care center, which is assisted living, and then the medical. There are all levels. It is absolutely wonderful. In the seven years that she has been there, I had one complaint, it was addressed, and it never occurred again. The place is clean. Everybody who works there is very friendly and very kind. If you have any question, you can call the case manager, and within a day she will be back in touch with you. During COVID, if there was any problem at all, they called every family who was associated with the facility and let us know right up front. As far as the number of COVID cases they had, it was very minimal and mostly with workers, not with people in the facility. The workers were going in and out, and it is understandable that they are going to be exposed. The CNAs in my mother's floor have now been there for twenty years; they've been there a long time, so there is no fast turnover. I just don't have any complaints about the place. It is private pay, and they do not take Medicare or Medicaid. They vary the activities based on the area where you are living. Yesterday I spent thirty minutes talking to the activity director about all the changes that they are making right now and have been making for the past year to provide something for them, even though for a lot of the time they've been quarantined to their rooms because of COVID. But they've had virtual activities, and now they are being allowed to do a little bit more. They are playing bingo while spaced six feet apart. I cannot say enough good things about them.

We put Mom in Carolina Village, and they've been beyond phenomenal. They have everything from independent living to end-of-life care, and they're bringing hospice in. I liked the fact that my mother wouldn't ever have to be moved. The level of care and compassion is incredible. My mother was only in assisted living one night before they had to transfer her to the hospital and then eventually put her back in to their skilled nursing, yet they're only charging us for that one night she actually slept in the room. Last night, my niece and nephew came by, and they brought in a three-shelf cart of snacks, a fruit tray, drinks, cookies, and crackers. It's as good of an experience as could be under these circumstances.

Carolina Village was absolutely an outstanding facility. They have everything there, from homes that you can buy or homes that you can rent. They have also apartments. They have excellent central facilities. They have all the things that you like to see, including very large medical assistance facility. The thing that turned out to be a negative is that the price of getting in there was exceptionally high. They explained that to me as it being like a medical insurance rather than an entrance fee. However, I was very impressed with this facility. The facility was excellent. The only thing was that it was very pricey, but the amenities, the cleanliness and all that were outstanding.

Our visit at Carolina Village was very good. They couldn’t have been more helpful and inviting.
The room was lovely. The only problem with it really was that it is three-and-a-half hours from my daughter and the one we are moving to is 45 minutes away. But we did not have any negatives about the facility itself.

We visited Carolina Village and looked at the rooms. The rooms were spacious, more spacious than what you pay for. Everything in this facility was nice though. Their staff was nice. They also have everything in there in terms of activities. However, we can't afford this facility. Everything was expensive. My husband did not like it too.

The staff at Carolina Village was very nice to my grandfather, who lived his final years in the facility. When he first moved in he was able to live mostly independently in the apartment area. As the years went by he moved into more dependent living sections of the facility. It was very helpful for the family that Carolina Village offered the option of moving into more intensive care. The amenities, including a small library, gym, and chapel (among other things) were all very well kept up and frequented by most residents regularly. I even used the gym a few times; it was very well equipped. The dining hall was nicely kept up and the staff provided decent food (the residents, being much older, enjoyed the types of meals more than I did). The staff in general was very caring. The only truely negative experience I can recall from my grandfather's stay there was that someone in the cleaning crew stole a ring from his room.

I WAS IN THIS FACILITY 2 YEARS AGO AND I WAS TREATED ROYALY. I WENT FROM A 10 DAY STAY AT THE HOSPITAL. BECAUSE OF THE TREATMENT I RECIEVED I WAS ABEL TO GO HOME EARLY.
