If you actually love them do not take them here. 1 month and bedsores, after 2 years of none when I took care of her. More than happy to post pics of the "food" they serve, it is completely unacceptable. The only redeeming factor is the PT team. I have complained for 4 weeks and no change to their food service. I would be ashamed, and have no Idea why their kitchen staff is as horrid as it is. 2 stars in certain areas for their PT team.

Ive personaly had both of my grandparents in this nursing home. Both are now deceased. One was paying by state assistance and the other self pay. The grand mother that was self pay got treated better than the one that was self pay at 6000 a month. After my grandmother that was state pay past they sought fit to give her electric wheelchair away that she paid for, for it was never seen ever again. Then after her death it was hard for my mother to make visits there cause that was her mom that had past, the staff there told us shes just going to have to get over it and come in. Were do they get off telling someone how to feel about the loss of a loved one. Then my grandmother that was self pay ($6000.00 a month for 7 yrs) had teeth, hearing aid and glasses when she moved in but when ever I came to see her she had no of these and her teeth were all rotting. My wife and I would ask about these thing but always got vegg Answers. After she was running out of money they got brutal. They would harass my mother at work my father at home then decided to take us to court even at one point in time threatened to pack her stuff up and kick her out. She went into cardiac arrestlast Thursday and we want to inform that she passed away til Tuesday the following week her body was lost in the morgue for 5 days. We didn't so much as get a call until the next week but if it would have been for a late bill or to collect a check they would rang the phone off the hook or called my mom out a meeting at her work. This place cares about noone they just care about there paycheck.

Overall the care given at the home was first class. All of the employees seemed to really care about each individual resident, and appeared to know a great deal about them. There were daily activities for the residents to attend. The meals provided were appetizing and served in a warm environment. The biggest downfall of The Bluffs was the facility itself. It is a bit older and has all of the problems related to that. The building seemed to be falling apart in some places, and had an unfortunate smell that permeates throughout the entire building. The reason I rated this facility a three is because while the care is great, the building itself is just sub par. Honestly, the smell itself is enough to lower the rating of this facility. It really is just that bad. If they were ever to change to a newer building then I would definitely rate it a five.

The Bluffs offered my elderly neighbor a comfortable place to stay following the passing of his wife. I was able to visit him without any inconvenience, being buzzed right in and allowed easy access to my friend and neighbor. I expected security to be tighter, but was not at all disappointed to find that it was simple to walk in and meet with a resident (although I understand that could be a concern for those more security-conscious). The lunch he was enjoying during my visit looked tasty, albeit a little boring. His room as well as the luncheon area were clean and modern, although the presence of other inhabitants sometimes wore on him, he admitted. While an old man, my neighbor possessed all his mental faculties and sometimes felt overexposed to those who had succumbed to the mental degradation that comes with age. I know that he was granted the freedom to enjoy activities beyond The Bluffs, which was wonderful considering his interest and connections in the arts. I think this was The Bluffs' true saving grace. It allowed my friend to experience life as he wanted, free from the burdens of a sterile environment and less than ideal company. While he certainly had friends at The Bluffs, the vast majority of his acquaintances resided beyond its walls. Thankfully, he was able to have both the security this assisted living facility provided with the continued access to a life beyond.

I have visited this facility in the last year to see an elderly friend. The home consistently appears clean and full of energy. The resident I am familiar with seems to be happy and continues to stay active. She specifically enjoys the outgoings and errands she is able to do via the shuttle provided by the facility.
Overall, an excellent home for an active senior "“ I particularly enjoy the fact that residents are able to shop, exercise and visit friends as they normally would in an active senior apartment living situation. My friend that lives here has health issues that require her to remain watched and monitored; however, she is still living life. I enjoy the freedom The Bluffs offers her.
A negative to this facility would be location. The center is not easily accessed via the HWY for travelers and also, is surrounded by other buildings and parking lots. The center does not maintain much curb appeal. A nice garden or walking trail would be an excellent addition.
