The Oaks was a very large facility and had several floors. It just needs new carpeting, but there were certain advantages to it. It's a Catholic facility and my mom's Catholic. So, they're going to have people that mom may know from our church. I think that's probably why we're going to end up going there. Their fees were also about the same as others. Plus, the rooms were bigger. They don't offer any efficiencies. The people were very helpful when I came to visit, too.

The Oaks is very spacious. We've talked to a couple of people there. We saw some of the staff and some of the people that live there, and they all seemed very comfortable. You can wear whatever you want. I've never seen anybody being mistreated. The staff was very nice, and I think she was the admissions person. They said that it would depend on my sister's money situation, and they have to find out if she can get enough money. Nobody was unpleasant, and they just referred me to another one, and we kept going. From the outside, it's quite beautiful. I only saw a few hallways, but it was nice. The activities director mentioned they had a lot of activities, and she seemed like a fun person. My sister liked her. The tour was very organized, and they seemed to be caring there.

The Oaks was very, very nice. We liked pretty much everything about it. The only thing we didn't like was how big it was. We felt like my grandma might get a little bit confused trying to make her way around as she's forgetful because of her age. Everything else about it was great. It was a wonderful, beautiful place.
They had a community room with books and puzzles. They also had a separate library, a little chapel, movie nights, and a bus that would come and take them out for dinner every couple of weeks/month. The lady I talked to was very friendly. She was relatively new at the job and there were a couple of questions that she wasn't too sure about the answers to, but she was as helpful as she could be.

My brother will be moving in. The lead person has been very pleasant. She's willing to work with each family individually and also through financial issues that the family may have. She's been very accommodating in that area. The residents seemed to be very pleasant. There were also a lot of activities. The facilities seemed to be very clean, accommodating, and the rooms seemed to be pleasant. He will be in the healthy living environment and he will have some accommodations in there due to his disability. They have a theater and church services just down the road from him and there's a gym. It was appealing to him.
