Everything about Barton Woods Assisted Living was nice. There wasn't anybody off in a corner by themselves. I saw lots of people around. Rooms are private with baths. They've got something going all the time and they've got a bunch of students from Saginaw Valley that help out with that. They have a beauty salon, a billiard room, and a game room. They also have two courtyards that are gated. I liked it.

My Aunt lived at Barton Woods. She was diagnosed with dementia and the staff were extremely patient and caring, despite how difficult she was to work with. She was always clean and well groomed. She seemed to like the food that was served and the staff did a great job of including her in the activities despite her inability to actively participate.

My mother-in-law is living in Barton Woods. It has some really noisy spots but the layout is fine. The place is clean, not bad-smelling and no odors. They're a little understaffed and the services are not as accommodating as I would like to see them. The food is awful but the dining area is passable. They don't have many activities, but they have Bingo, balloon popping around, and occasional music. The rooms are very nice but the showers are not very safe. They need to have more staff, a licensed nurse on staff, and better meals.

The rooms are nice and big; they are roomy. The staff is wonderful, they take good care of my mom, and they are very friendly and very accommodating. The place is very clean. I haven't eaten there myself, but I have been there with my mother, and she seems to like it. I think there was one dinner that she wasn’t real crazy about, but she hasn't complained about it. The one thing I did like about Bartonwoods is they have activities, but they actually come down to the room and motivate her to go and do an activity. They come and get her, which I really like. Otherwise, I don't think she would go. We've only been here since March, and we are really happy with it.
