We visited and selected Scott's Convenient Living 1, but the experience we had wasn't very good. My mom wasn't happy and ended up having a mini-stroke, so we took her out of the home. She wasn't there that long. We were trying to get her adjusted so the caretaker had asked us not to come for the first week, so we went there after a week, which was Mother's Day. We had a good visit, and she was OK. Then we came again on that Tuesday and she was OK, but she wasn't herself. Every time we went, she'd ask us, "How long do I have to stay here?" I already got the feeling that she wasn't happy there, but of course, she would not be happy when she was not in her own home. The next day, my sister and I discussed it and decided to take her out. By the time we got there, we noticed a difference. She was very weak and something had happened to her left hand. She had no use for it. We also suspected that she may have had a urinary tract infection. We don't know if she was given enough water. We tried to get a test done, but she couldn't urinate and that's how we found out that she was dehydrated. We ended up taking her to the hospital because they wanted to do an MRI or a CAT scan to see whether or not she had a stroke. This was on a Thursday and the CAT scan didn't get taken until that Saturday. By that time, they had revealed that it was a mini or a very mild stroke on the left side, just in her hand so her left hand is weak. She can move her hand slowly and the fingers can move, but a nerve in that hand is not working properly. That's basically why we decided to just bring her home. We haven't had any dealings with the staff except for the first day that we went there and it was okay and they were fine. They were attentive from what I saw. The cleanliness of the place appeared satisfactory too. The room appeared clean but it was small. It didn't have a lot of space for the tenant to move around.
