Asbury Methodist Village was lovely. It's a very large facility. My parents lived there, and we're very pleased with it. My father was in memory care while my mom was in assisted living. It was a three-minute walk from one side of the campus to another part of the campus. So, they saw each other a lot every day and I was also there a lot. So, I was very involved in their care, working with the nurses and the doctors, and so forth, and I had a really good sense of how the place was run. They're very ecumenical in terms of spiritual devotion. They appreciate people having any kind of religious life and day-to-day living. You could feel it there and I liked that. The staff was amazing. The food was great. The buildings were very well cared for and they were always clean. I think they're very, very reasonably priced, too. My father's room was nice. He had a bed, a chair, and a desk, but what was important was that people were really kind and competent. As their child, you want them to feel like they're cared for and they felt that there. They had lots of art stuff and because they're large enough, it kind of catered to a group of people who were interested in lots of different things. So, they would have political commentators come out and talk to them or a gardening buff. They had lectures all the time on the most interesting topics. My mother would come home with all these sweet things that she would make from a crafts class. She made Christmas pins for people and they were just adorable and all handmade. She was very proud of them. She wanted to give something back to other people and she was very happy about that. They also take the residents to the Kennedy Center. They have a really big campus, so you can walk around for exercise. There's a portion that is cordoned off where people can go and have their own little garden plot.
