About This Community
Lynn Home for Elderly Persons was formed by the merger of Lynn Home for Aged Women, Lynn Home for Aged Men and Lynn Home for Aged Couples. On June 9, 1966 the Executive Board of Lynn Home for Aged Women voted to purchase 1/3 of the Hollis property at the corner of Ocean Street and Atlantic Terrace of Lynn, Massachusetts, for $25,000. Lynn Homes for Aged Men & Couples also paid $25,000 each, for a total of $75,000. The Hollis house was taken down and a multiple level dwelling was erected for aged persons.

Lynn Home for Elderly Persons was very homey. I thought that the administrator who ran the place seemed genuinely caring. She was very, very nice, knowledgeable, and very personable. She's been there for 17 years. Her mother was there as well. So, that's nice. There's not very many private rooms, but there's a nice little porch out back where you can sit on the rocking chair and actually see the ocean, which was kind of nice. It's an older place, but I liked the presentation that I saw. They would give you a choice of two meals, unlike others who do not. They were playing bingo in their activity room and they seemed to be enjoying themselves. It's located on a nice, quiet street (one street over from the ocean).

Lynn Home for Elderly Persons is right next to my brother's house, so it's a good fit for my mother. We're not allowed to go in yet; we've only met my mother outside. They're very nice. So far, it has been great. She is happy. Everybody is nice. They treat her well. It is working out really good. The people are very nice and very caring. My mother is in quarantine for a period of time. It might be upwards of two weeks. There are special rooms that they're using for quarantine because of the virus, so she hasn't actually been put in her room yet. I haven't been actually inside the building. It's all very new and everything has been great so far. We looked at other places, but this place stood out because it's for Lynn people. We have friends who have a mother there and they raved about the place. My mother is going to know people there because she lived in Lynn just about all her life.

The staff here are very good at being available for you and your family member when you need them to be. Food is above average and they do well with making sure to follow the health guidelines and requirements of each person in their home based on their personal needs. Staff are warm and friendly, very welcoming and open to questions - plus they are also willing to oblige any special requests you might have about living arrangements. There are plenty of activities to keep the people there occupied and they also encourage friendships to be made. There are regular checkups, a physical is done prior tpo admittance and they are on top of the status of the resident's health continually. The place has a nice feel to it, looks home-like, residents are pleasant and has one of the best prices that you can find in the area (if not the best). It's definitely not the Hilton but it does have it's perks. My mother appreciates having her own hairdresser the best.

Lynn Home for the Elderly also known as Shore View House is situated on Atlantic Terrace street in Lynn, MA. I do not work for this facility. I'm a homecare RN and i usually visit patients in this facility and others located in the Boston area. Lynn Home for the elderly is located 5 minutes from the beach in a very quiet part of Lynn called diamond district. The hallways and apartments are very beautiful and it smells great too. The place feels very homely and there is avery relaxed atmosphere. Nurses and staff are friendly and seem to know all residents. I like this facility very much and would highly reccomend it. Meals are served regularly and there is usually staff to assist residents with their meals. Residents are watched keenly during the day. This is a great facility.
