We're leaning towards Benchmark Senior Living at Robbins Brook for my mom. It's very nice, it had a little bit more character and is a little bit more upscale than other places I've seen. We saw several different rooms, one of which was a 2-bedroom apartment, which was very nice but out of our price range. We also saw a smaller room which was just standard or average, it was nothing special. We also saw a 1-bedroom that was a bit larger and looked much more reasonable. The rooms looked nice and well maintained. The biggest difference between Robbins Brook and other places was that the 1-bedroom looked big enough to fit a reasonable amount of furniture in. The staff members that gave the tour were very friendly and knowledgeable. There's somebody who had worked with residents as an activity director of some sort. It was nice to talk to somebody whose actual job was to interact with the residents as well. We didn't have a chance to eat there, but the dining area felt a little bit more like a restaurant than a cafeteria. This place just looked a little bit fancier. We saw more residents in the common areas than in the other places. They have a jazz band come in once a week and they go to museums and beaches, they also have book clubs. The activities in some of the other places wouldn't be in my mother's interest, whereas in this place it seemed like they would be more so.

Benchmark Senior Living at Robbins Brook was very nice. I'd want to live there honestly. The staff was amazing. The facility was great. Jay gave us the tour and he was amazing and very patient. The tour was about an hour, but they have everything there. The surroundings were beautiful. We looked at one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms and those were very nice. The dining room was like a restaurant. They can order off a menu. On the floors, they have a little bistro where they can get a muffin or something. They have a salon, movie nights, and art classes. It was just nice. The residents seemed very happy. They were doing the booster shots, and there was a lot of laughter going on. There were people in the craft room doing things and I think grandchildren were visiting. I was very impressed by it.

I visited Benchmark Senior Living at Robbins Brook. It was large and somewhat impersonal, but it seemed pleasant and well decorated. Their dining area looked like a mid-range restaurant.

My wife’s mother has been at Benchmark Senior Living at Robbins Brook for about six years. It’s very impressive. I can see that they have lots of things going on. We’ve gone to many of the functions that they’ve had there, like barbecues and brunches, so we see that they do a lot for the residents. The facility is physically larger and somewhat well appointed. The staff is very nice and very attentive.
