We visited Westminster Village Bloomington. It's been there for quite a while, but they're remodeling and adding stuff. It's a convenient community although my mom wasn't really impressed with the whole thing. She did like what the rooms had to offer, so she was probably satisfied. Caroline, the one who helped us during the tour, was very friendly and informative. She listened, tried to explain everything to mom, and was very well-informed. Their dining room is very big and had plenty of room. A lot of people were just sitting around, talking at the tables, and watching TV and some were walking or exercising. They had three different levels and they're adding on to it. The community is well-established and has been there for a long time.

very poor care- staff is not professional - management is lacking - food is not good , public area is messy -you pay for service but when are there you find out they do perform them - the care is all about the staff schedule not what works for the residents - I wonder if they have any geriatric training - was sad to find that some of the staff come form the state funded nursing homes ( we all know what state run facilities are like and if that is their background it is concerning ) was always scared to say anything because thought they might take it out on my parent just a feeling I had . also beware some of the marketing on the web site of services provided are not true,

We looked at a two-bedroom -- which is really what my friend would like -- and it had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a walk-in closet, a kitchen, a stove, and a regular sized refrigerator. The living room was nice and big. They have like craft classes and various exercise classes. The thing that I really liked about Westminster was that if you were in the nursing home, you still can have dinner with a friend in the cafeteria, and you can go to all of the activities in the assisted living.

They were very helpful, very knowledgeable, and courteous at Westminster Village. The facility was beautiful. It was expensive, but it was well equipped. I would definitely recommend it.

Overall I think they did a food job of taking care of my grandma. She wasn't the easiest person to please so it was hard for some of the staff. She did not like doing rehab in the "weight" room. She did enjoy walking with a staff member to get back on her feet. I wish they were more up front about the effect on social security that they have if they are there longer than a month. My grandma didn't know they would take everything but 30 dollars if she was there longer than a month. I wish there were more private rooms at the facility just so people who have lived independently there whole lives don't gave to have a roommate all of a sudden. It is a big enough change without dealing with that too.

Westminster Village is an example of quality senior citizen living at its finest. All levels of assistance and independence are available. The Willows, which is a group of duplexes for seniors, is what I know the best. Everyone on the staff at Westminster is committed to making each and every senior's experience a memorable and enjoyable one, whether it's the activities available, the programs provided, or the help that is given. All services are given with great respect for this phase of life. We couldn't have chosen a finer place for my mother to live. She loves it there!

Everything was nicely done and updated-bright and open. I like the way there is a board of residents that plan things for the other seniors.
