I will be moving into The Canopy at Azalea Grove. I was very impressed. It's a modern and new facility, and it's very clean and sanitary looking. The people are very professional. The lady that showed me around knows what she's doing and is guiding me right through and answering any questions that I may have. We had lunch there and it was very good. They have a maitre d' to help you there. A lady that was doing crafts came around and showed us what she was doing. The room that I've taken possession of when I first go in is a respite room because it's furnished and I don't have to worry about it. I'm so handicapped right now before I have my surgery and hopefully, I'll be better afterwards. They have coffee bars and a card table set up if you want to play cards, they have large screen TVs in several areas, and they have a dining room. If you want the family to come in and have lunch together or dinner, they have a private dining room for that. The staff has called me back and checked with me and she's been very personal and professional, at the same time caring.

The Canopy at Azalea Grove was very nice. I've got my mother enrolled there. She will be going straight there from rehab. The staff was very nice. Everything was clean. It smelled wonderful. You couldn't ask for a better place. The food was excellent. It had a good taste to it. The dining room was very nice. Everything's nice. The people were nice, even the people that live there. They're very friendly. I couldn't see anything wrong with it. The grass is cut. The shrubbery is nice. They have a girl that comes in and does their hair every Thursday for a reasonable price and I was amazed by that. They have activities, and they play games. The staff gave me a brochure of anything they have. They go on outings, they go to the movies, and they go to Wal-Mart. They read, go to church on TV, and have lunch, brunch, chair exercises, and council meetings. They have people come in and sing. They have private parties if you have a private party you want to do. They have bingo and a five-minute mystery and short stories.

The Canopy at Azalea Grove was a very nice facility. The staff was very good and very helpful. As far as the appearance is concerned, it's great. I just think it's overpriced for what they provide. Every little thing is priced.

I toured both the memory care and assisted living of The Canopy at Azalea Grove. The experience was wonderful, the community was great, and the atmosphere was also great. The rooms were wonderful and delightful. Their dining area was nice and convenient. At that time, we could not get lunch but they had meatloaf and potatoes. The staff that gave me the tour was very polite and she's still keeping up with me. I have another interview with her next week so I need to go back over there and I will take my father.

I visited The Canopy at Azalea Grove. I went to the front door with my rollator. They sent me around back to a little screened room. I fell and hurt my foot, my back and my neck. I wrote that in the comments when they inquired online about my fall. The lady knew it also and my foot was already turning purple. You know what she said to me? She said, 'Do you bruise easy?' I said, 'No, I fell hard.' I said I hurt myself. My granddaughter had actually picked me up off of the ground. Therefore, I had a horrible experience. They checked on me to make sure that I was OK and to tell me, because I asked, where I needed to go to get x-rays done for my foot because I had to soak it every night in Epsom salt hot water because it was throbbing just to be able to sleep. I heard nothing. No concern. That is definitely not a place that you send somebody on a rollator. It's dangerous. I wouldn't send anybody up there if I was you. I was not able to see the room. The outside surroundings were dangerous. They sent me to a dangerous entrance. They were not even concerned when I fell and hurt myself. I was looking for assisted living, somebody to help me with my medications and with my doctor's visit. They said the transportation was included, but then when I got there, I was told that, no it wasn't. It was $20 a trip. I wasn't impressed at all with any of it. I did like the meal situation and the cafeteria situation. I like that part of it, but first of all, they didn't live up to what they said, and then secondly, they had no concern whatsoever. They would have never sent me through a bunch of chopped-up bark to get in. They did cook low-sodium for people that had that need. The staff didn't show me any activities. She didn't tell me anything about what was going on. The meals are on a regular schedule and that they cook special for each individual person. The dining area doesn't mean a thing. What means something is your care and them being concerned about your health and well-being. I didn't feel like they met those needs because if they didn't even care that I fell on my face in their yard, then how could they care about my health and well-being in a room? The staff was so unconcerned with what had happened to me. The facility looked nice, so I would have to say that the facility itself was a 5.
