The facility was wonderful. The staff was very friendly and seemed to personally care about my friend. The facility was clean and well-maintained. The residents were cheerful, and they all seemed to enjoy being at Summer Hill. Everyone I encountered there was both professional and compassionate.

I think that 3 stars is generous. The place is not outfitted for seniors as one would expect. Minimum safety features, small and cramped living smapces. No place for exercise or livelihood. I wouldn't want to visit someone who lived there either. There are small guest rooms and no dining areas. This is a very limited assistance "assisted-living" facility. I am extremely disappointed given that I had heard nothing but good things about the place. As a matter of fact, the majority of the people living there aren't even seniors.

The church and I are always volunteering here. The staff members are always friendly and professional. They are very caring when it comes to the seniors. I observed one of the nurses reading a nice Harry Potter book to one of the elderly men, he seemed to really enjoy it.

This is a disappointing facility. Basically, it's senior low-income housing. There are apartments in three stories, on a small piece of property with no landscaping, almost no grass, and no place to walk. It's located in an industrialized area, with few conveniences and services nearby. There is an executive director who is not particularly responsive to residents' concerns. The living spaces are small and older, not really appropriate for those with limitations in getting around, and not outfitted with safety features. Most of the residents are younger than the common senior housing population. There is only a small room for family and visiting guests, which is not very inviting. There is no common dining room, so residents are responsible for providing or arranging for their own food. And the scheduled activities are limited to bingo, health fairs, birthday, Bible study"”nothing particularly creative. The cost is between $560 and $745 monthly, depending on the size of the living unit.
