Arbor Terrace of Decatur was very nice, but it was assisted living, and I'm not ready for that. It looked very nice, very clean, and a little bit updated. The accommodations were very good, the room was fine, and being painted. The staff I saw was very nice, very outgoing, and they have activities, but I didn't go into it so much.

Arbor Terrace of Decatur was very warm and welcoming. I saw a lot of residents in the main area when I visited there. It was a clean community, and the rooms were of nice sizes. The food was very good. They had some music at that time and someone singing. Someone mentioned that they had snacks every afternoon. There were a lot of activities planned for the residents. They were going to a play and some outings. They also had regular games like bingo and puzzles. I was impressed because of the program there -- Helping Hands -- where they help the homeless.

Arbor Terrace of Decatur was fine, but it is obviously a for-profit business. The manager was good and slick. The rooms were well appointed, but they weren't good for my personal needs. They seemed to be big and didn't have a lot of grab bars in places that they should have them. They didn't have any setups where there was a bathroom right off of the bedroom. They were all more like suites. If the person needs medication help, they charge extra $200 a month for that, which I thought is ridiculous. They charge for every little thing. It was very nice in every other way, but you pay a lot of money for those frills. It's a good one, but it did not suit my needs entirely.

I liked Arbor Terrace, but it didn’t have independent-living. The facilities are really nice. What stood out were the furnishings of their apartment, the furniture, and the décor. The rooms weren’t the largest, but they were adequate. They had movies, board games, card games, and they’d go out to lunch. They have the little bus. The staff was really nice; I like them a lot. They had a lot of retired teachers there.
I had lunch there on a Sunday. It was a nice meal, but the main thing I felt about the mealtime was that we didn’t feel anybody was talking to each other at the tables. It was very quiet in there. It just didn’t seem lively as I would have liked.

I like Arbor Terrace mainly because of its location. It has elevators and it's accessible by wheelchair. The rooms are adequate in size but it's small. There's also cooking accommodations, they're not very great. They provide meals but I'm not sure if it's one or two per day. The food was good and well prepared. They have an activity director for residents and a number of things like games, music, people coming in for church service and shopping. We told people this is the best one we found so far.

I went over to Arbor Terrace and this is the place I preferred but the price was too high; higher than my income. I talked to the receptionist and she took me around to the rooms and showed me the dining room and social area. She also explained their program.

My Mom has lived at Arbor Terrace Decatur for almost a year now and we could not be happier. Every staff member I have met has been delightful and attentive. There is a wall of portraits showing only staff who have worked there for at least 8 years. I'd say there are at least 30 photos. Staff at AT go out of there way to make sure my Mom is safe and happy. The activities are fun and designed to help those with memory loss retain cognitive function. The food is nourishing and delicious. We sing the praises of Arbor Terrace to everyone we meet.

Most if not all interaction with Arbor Terrace residents, administrators and staff has been pleasant. Most of the members seem more enthusiastic than at most other nursing home places. I do however, notice that getting around from place to place inside the nursing home seems a little problematic. It makes me wonder if its difficult for me to get from place to place how it may be for those less mobile than I am that stay there. Most residents that stay there get around via wheel chair or some kind of walker so most use the elevator from what I can tell. The issue is that the stairwells are very narrow and kind of steep so anyone trying to get around without assistance may have some issues. Outside of the layout of the center, we always feel like Arbor Terrace and its residents are pretty happy. The managing staff seems to be interested in how their residents are doing from what I can tell as well. I plan to keep visiting for the foreseeable future as we have a friend and a member from church that stays there and seem to be doing just fine.

I had visited this place when my family and I were staying in Atlanta one year. We received a tour around the whole facility which lasted about thirty minutes. I thought the facility was nice, clean and cozy. The staff members seemed friendly, experienced and professional. One of the nurses came and informed us about their specialties which included diabetes management. They were helpful and quite informative. We also received great information about their meal plans, nutritious and healthy. Overall, they were very helpful and kind.
