I toured the Gardens of Westbrooke. The building was set up like a cross. So, we went through some of the different rooms. I saw a shared room with two beds in it, but there was no kitchenette. There were also private rooms available. The facility was nice. It had a beautiful yard and screened-in room where they could sit. They had a nice cafeteria. As a whole, the place was very nice. The staff who assisted me with the tour was very nice and very informative. She showed me everything that was in the place. They had a little salon for your hair. They had areas like a library and a TV room where the residents could sit around and watch. They had a calendar with all kinds of different activities for them, like bingo.

I thought the people at Gardens of Westbrooke were very sweet. I even talked to some of the residents and they loved it there. The one gentleman that caught my eye has been there for a year and he said they are the nicest people. They were very helpful and if my mom was still alive now, I probably would have put her there because it just seemed like a perfect fit. They had single rooms and shared ones. I looked at a room where a lady lives there and I said "This is very homely.", and she goes, "Yep. That's what we do. We make it ours." They have a big calendar on the wall and it tells you what they do every day, and every day was different, which I thought my mom would love.

Gardens of Westbrooke was all on one floor. They have some beautiful trees out there so being on one level there, you would have a nice chance to look out the windows and see the grounds. Once you get inside, it was a little bit unkempt in some of the areas (especially in the main areas where you walk and get a first impression). They had vistas and places to sit and everything outside, so if they could have kept the consistency from the beautiful outside oak trees to the inside, that would have been better. The place smelled like cigarette smoke. It was only a light smell, but it was still quite noticeable. I saw residents that were sitting in the great room and they seemed a little more lonesome. They were just kind of sitting and not talking much. Other than that, the staff we met was very polite, professional, and seemed happy.

Gardens of Westbrooke was laid out nicely. They've got a game room, a TV room, and a kitchen area. They have everything. It's not a huge place, so there are not a lot of people. The staff was very nice and very helpful. It's in a nice area and it was very clean. They also have a lot of different activities.

We had an in-person tour of the Gardens of Westbrooke. My mother, my sister, and I toured together. Honestly, what we liked the best was that we felt that the residents were happy. It seemed to us that they were relaxed. They were able to move around freely within the confines of the building. Some activities were going on or being offered. We thought it would be a good placement for my dad. The staff was very good. The dining room was set up like a restaurant with small tables where maybe three or four residents to sit and eat together. From what I understand, they would be able to choose two or three options of what they would like to eat. I assume what they're trying to do is to have a meal and socialize at the same time. The exterior looked nice. The inside depends on where you are because they are in the process of renovating. They do offer beauty parlors or barbers. They had a calendar of the entire month for different activities for every day.

My tour at Westbrooke Manor was very nice. They got tennis court and shuffleboard, and that was about it as far as outside activities. I thought it was very pleasant. The staff was very good. They had very nice accommodations. You got a living room set-up and a kitchenette. They provide assisted living if you need it. I had no complaints. Inside, they got the indoor pool and all kind of games like bingo, checkers, chess, and stuff like that. The staff was very nice, very helpful, and very knowledgeable. Food was very good.

Westbrooke Manor was great. The place is excellent. Everything is great. The only thing about them right now is they're going through a lot of construction; they're redoing the facility. Outside of that, the staff seemed to be very nice, and the facility seemed to be very nice. It's a dated facility, but they're upgrading it. The rooms were dated. They were nice, although they were a little small, but that comes from the age of the facility. All in all, it was a nice place. The staff was very nice. The young lady who walked us around was very nice and very knowledgeable. Everything was great. The dining area was nice. The outdoor spaces were very nice and clean.

The rooms at Westbrooke Manor were studio apartments. It's older and feels very much like a nursing home. The studios were 400 square feet, so they're small, and they said that they're all one size. The person giving us the tour was very nice. Some of the folks who were working there and walking around looked shady. Some of the guys -- I don't know if they were working in the laundry or what -- they don't wear uniforms, and they had on t-shirts and long denim shorts. It just didn't look professional at all. There was an activity board and there was something going on. They definitely had some activities going.

It was very nice. The person who I talked to was very cordial and very helpful. This was a place that my brother was not a fit for because of his alcoholism. They would not allow him in because they did not want to deal with it. I don't hold that against them because they were doing it out of the well-being of their current residents. They assisted me by giving us a tour and showing their rooms. The guy who talked to me was a very nice fellow. They had a nice gathering room and were having an ice cream social at the time. Everybody looked happy. It seemed like a nice place. They had a little restaurant, a snack bar, and a nice, little park outside.

I visited. It was nice. However, it wouldn't have worked for my dad because it was too big. It would be a good place for more active people. It's big with more people around, so it wouldn't have worked for my dad. I only met one staff member, and he was very nice. The rooms were very similar to what we've seen in another facility.
