My grandmother was here for 5 years and my dad is currently here. The facility is clean. The staff is very friendly and the office staff is very knowledgeable. They keep in close contact with the family about their residents.

I have a friend/prior neighbor that has been a resident for over a year now. I visit her frequently (or did, prior to COVID19) and I always have a pleasant experience. My friends room is always clean, safe and she has everything she needs. The staff I interact with are always smiling and conversational. The entire facility is thoroughly cleaned, not sure of the cleaning schedule but it is ALWAYS clean and smells nice, including the bathroom and even the elevator. My friend really enjoys art and BINGO, and occasionally pool. Also she has complimented the dining room. The rocking chairs outside are a nice touch. Thanks for your kindness and care for my friend, God Bless You.

We look after lady friend whom has no family and through the last 14 years we've known her this is the 4th assisted living facility we've moved her too. The first one we were very happy with but it was taken over by a larger company and prices were raised beyond her level of affordability. The 2nd and 3rd homes were sister homes owned by a family whom we thought provided good care but after her dissatisfaction with the way she was treated, the quality of food and the friendliness and attitudes of the staff we decided to look for a better place. Another friend of ours told us about Shady Palms. It was a place where his mother lived out her life. They were very happy with Shady Palms. We finally decided to give it a try and now after 4 months our friend is very happy and comfortable. The most outstanding characteristic of Shady Palms is the friendly, caring and courteous staff. Unfortunately our friend could not afford a private room but shares a room with another lady. Shady Palms management placed her with a very nice roommate and they both get along fine. The rooms are small but each one has its own bathroom. It appears that the residents are encouraged to enjoy the larger living spaces in the home. There are many activities going on all the time. Other than the inside spaces there a a couple of screened in outdoor large porches where people can come for fresh air. Our friend also has relayed to us she seems to have more freedom here which in the last facility she felt she didn't have. Also she relays to us that the food is so much better. Last she truly enjoys the fact that during the late night someone checks in on her to make sure everything is fine. As you can probably already tell.... we are very happy with Shady Palms. Thank you Shady Palms for caring for our friend.

Shady Palms is too small, and most of the people are 10 times my age, so I don't feel comfortable over there. It was the only place that I knew about, but I just feel out of place when I go there. The staff was very professional; they're very nice people. It is just that the residents were not up to my level of illness. The living environment was very good. They had a gazebo; it was outdoor, but it was more screened, so it looked very nice. The inside was nice. The residents were kept occupied with activities.

Not the newest facility around, but after having my aunt stay and move from a few other places in Tampa in the same price range I can say their care is amazing. It is hidden off a main drag which I appreciate for security and ease of visits on my way home from work. Inside was always kept clean, and staff was nice. They really helped with financial struggles we were having.

Shady Palms is not a beautiful place. My brother stayed there temporarily. We decided to give it a try while I took a vacation for myself. He stayed there, but at the end of the vacation, he told me he doesn't want to go back there. Shady Palms fulfilled our purpose of taking care of him while I went away. It was also a very cheap place. It's OK on the inside and the beds and the dining room are clean. They have meals and service and somebody to take care of them. They're full. There were a lot of ladies there, so they might be doing something right -- might be the price.

A mid size ALF, Shady Palms stands independently. This is a beautiful building and it truely cares about its residents. In my opinion the lighting in this building seems insitutional. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The yard is well manicured. There is a plentyfull amount of parking.
