We’re moving into Glenridge on Palmer Ranch in June. I did do some physical therapy there for about 15 days. I liked it a lot. Their physical therapy is very good, and the people are very understanding; they’re very nice people. We also liked it at that time because you can invite somebody, not just your husband or your wife, but anybody in your family to breakfast, lunch, and dinner, they would accommodate you. I had my daughter come a couple of times, but we never knew how expensive it was going to be. They never told us or anything and as it turned out, it was like $0.35 every time she came over to have dinner, and their meals were wonderful. They have many chefs because they have many dining areas, so we would not be using that dining area when we move in. They have the usual gym that you can use, an indoor swimming pool, and a restaurant where you can entertain people if you wish. We’ll also have access to the bar. Walking would be great, if I could walk, because it’s so pretty and kind of secluded even though there are so many apartments over there. What I like about it is they do not mix the people. They have separate wings for those who needed constant care, and then those of us who needed rehab only, and then those who needed assisted living, so it was very nice. We thought about it for a long time because it’s very expensive, but we thought that that might be the best place. In fact, I went over there because I know one of the people and I talked to her, but they didn’t have anything available. They thought they might have something available on June 1, or it could be a little later than that.

Glenridge on Palmer Ranch was lovely. It would be a 5 if you had a lot of money to put down upfront. Once we heard what the entrance fee was, we knew we weren't going to be going there. The place was lovely. They had a full theater with theater seating in it for entertainment. They bring in Broadway shows that are traveling on the road. They are A+++ in everything, except we can't afford them.

We were impressed with Glenridge, but we had some concerns. One is that they have separate buildings and the dining rooms are all in one building, and then most of the units are in separate buildings which means no matter what the weather is, you've got to get over to the main building for a meal or for the activities. Otherwise, it was a lovely place. They took us into an empty assisted living area. We went in saw the common areas, but I don't think we saw any of the rooms like the dining room.
The ones that we saw were mostly volunteers who are residents there who are involved in the tours. They seem to have a lot of visiting performers, like musical performers or people who come in and talk about health issues. They have good series of programs and they have a lot of clubs for different interests. I think the people who live there seem to have had interesting careers, are well traveled, well-educated, and have a lot of talent. There was a lot of artwork on the walls that some of the residents were on display and they seem to be pretty talented.

Glenridge on Palmer Ranch was completely top of the line. It was the best because of the property itself, the programs they offered and most of the existing residents were still active. If a spouse went for rehabilitation or nursing program for a short time, they also had it. The place was totally clean and it was an A-rating facility.

The Glenridge on Palmer Ranch assisted living facility looked really well-kept from the outside when we arrived. My friend's mother's family has lived in the region for quite a while and they would like to stay in touch.
We especially enjoyed the well manicured lawns and atmosphere of the grounds. My friend's mother loves to tend the garden and we could see that she would be impressed as well. The patio areas also had barbeques where they have hosted and private parties.
The main foyer had a lovely receiving area, reminiscent of a quaint country home.
The communal areas we saw all had interesting activities occurring, from reading to games and resident interactions. It looked like the residents were really enjoying living there.
Outings scheduled included anything imaginable - from restaurants, to art museums, the library, to films, fine dining and theater. They also host parties for residents at the facility which they encourage friends and family to attend.
The food choices looked nutritious and delicious, as well as the regular snacks - offered continually. The dining areas have comfortable and decorative seating options.
The private living suites were all a nice size and did not seem cramped and were beautifully decorated. We could see that my friend's mother would be comfortable in any one of them.
It was clear that the staff at this facility provides understanding and attentive caregivers for the best care of its residents.
