We went to Savannah Court of Bartow. I was impressed. I think it was good. The girl was very helpful. She was good. The facility was nice and clean. The residents there seemed to be taken care of. It seemed like they have enough staff there available for the patients, so I would recommend it. They had the assisted living, and they had the adult day care where you could have the residents go and then pick them up. They do not offer transportation back and forth though. You have to see if your insurance pays for transportation. However, I thought they were pretty efficient, and it seemed pretty good. The staff member who took me around was good. She knew her business. The facility was pretty good. It was a nice atmosphere. They showed me their outdoor spaces. They had like tables, chairs, and grilling and stuff. The spaces were OK.

My mother is currently staying in the Savannah Court of Bartow. Their staff, all the way from the top administrator down to the maintenance worker, is constantly changing all the time, which I think creates problems that go along with the care. That's not a good thing when you constantly have big staff turnover. My mom's room is very nice, but sometimes it's not cleaned like it should be, and that goes back to the staff. But her room itself is nice. We put a new carpet in her room before she got there, and we painted. They also had issues keeping cooks; they come and go just like all the other staff. The food, is OK sometimes, but sometimes it's not. I know some of the residents are complaining about it. I tried the food, but that was probably two years ago. It was OK then, but they had two or three different cooks. They have gone for long periods of time without an activity coordinator, but they recently got a new one. I'm not sure how that's working out because I haven't been there to see her in action. I am constantly having to correct things with them and talk to them about doing things that should be done. They're very nice, but I should not have to constantly ask them to put her in a wheelchair or point out to them that her toilet seat is filthy and needs to be cleaned. I should not have to point out a lot of things to them. The majority of the staff are nice, but it is just outrageous and unheard of that they should have the staff turnover as often as they do.

We chose Savannah Court of Bartow because it really felt homey when you walk in and I really loved the courtyard. But in the end, my mom progressed and they no longer suit her needs. In terms of activities, they have a piano player, which we try to get my mom to go to, they have puzzles and crafts. They also do stuff like nails and different things like that. All of the residents have a calendar with events going on. Once there was an ice cream truck that came. The building was a little bit older, but I don't see anything wrong with it at all. It's nestled between trees and it had that old country feel to it.

We had mom in Savannah Court for a daycare. They didn't have a lockdown facility and that was one of my concerns with them. Mom could get out on her own there and I don't want her roaming. Nevertheless, their rooms were very nice and big enough. The staff was really good, sweet and everybody was nice. All the residents there were all happy to be there. They let you know how great it is there. The food was good. They also have very nice activities for their residents.
