My relative moved into The Rose Garden of Orlando. I like it. It is very nice. Their facilities are really nice. The people are very nice, helpful, and caring. I really love it. It is clean. They have a lot of activities, like bingo and exercises. It is also budget friendly.

The Rose Garden of Orlando seemed to be a well-organized community with lots of activities for the seniors. They had spacious rooms and a lot of accommodations. I was most impressed with the monthly planned activities. Even for a person who is blind like my aunt, they had music appreciation and movie nights where she could listen to movies. They had single room studios. The staff gave us a guided tour. They sat my aunt there while they gave her a lengthy interview, and they were very reassuring.

The Rose Garden of Orlando was very understaffed. They also needed more activities for their residents. I saw people in wheelchairs sitting down, just looking at walls. The facility wasn't very well kept. I saw an outdoor area, an area where they do games and stuff, and an area where the residents can just gather and communicate with each other. A lot of things needed to be cleaned, and the residents needed to be attended to.

I was very happy with The Rose Garden of Orlando. It looked very clean and very professional, and the room situations were more than adequate. The staff was very pleasant and very informational. Other than being very clean, it's very freshly painted and it was very nice. It had personality. The room was very roomy and had all the necessities or essentials that a person would need for either a shared room or an individual room. It's kind of in a busy area, but they're off from a highway. There's traffic around you, but people probably wouldn't pay any attention. It would just be something to watch.

The tour at the Rose Garden of Orlando was all right. I met the director; she gave me the tour. The food was very good and very nice. It was huge, but there were a lot of inconveniences. The elevators were very small, they only had four elevators, and there were a lot of people who lived there.

I did an in-person tour at The Rose Garden of Orlando. It was fine. I just like the other place better. The room looked a little smaller. It didn't have a balcony or patio. The dining room was darker. There wasn't much natural sunlight, and it wasn't decorated as fancy as the other place.

Mom is 78 years old and last year her health was declining.
She has Diabetes and Liver Disease which causes confusion and balance issues. She needed to live in an Assistant Living Facility since she could no longer be independent. Plantation Oaks was our ONLY choice because it was the ONLY facility that was in Mom's price range. She paid $3000 a month for a Studio Apartment with the lowest level of care (called the Bronze Care) - she only needed assistance with taking her medications. Mom moved in on 10/27/17.
One year later, 10/27/18, Mom moved out.
At first everything seemed ok. She made new friends, participated in activities, the staff seemed very nice, and she seemed to be adjusting.
I, being her only daughter and power of attorney, live 60 miles away close to Cocoa Beach. I would visit her at least 2x per month and take her to all her Medical Appointments. I started noticing a lot of issues so I documented everything and emailed the Nurse and CC'd the Director several times a month. This went on for the whole year!
What bothered me is that the same things kept happening over and over.
The icing on the cake was in August 2018, a Memo was sent out stating the Water was Contaminated and a Health Risk, and that Residents could NOT use their water but that they could go to the building next door to take a shower. (what an inconvenience). After 2 months, they STILL could not use their showers so I said "that's it, this is ridiculous!"
The Residents wear a Pendant (like a necklace) and when they need something they are supposed to press it and someone should tend to them within 10 minutes (that's actually the state law which I was told). I witnessed on 3 occasions of my Mom pushing this Pendant and 20 minutes went by an NOBODY came to Mom's room. I had to call the front desk and THEN somebody came. I was told it was because they were "understaffed and the Med Tech on duty was working multiple floors".
Ok, so what if my Mom was on the floor in pain and needed help?
Mom told me this was ALWAYS an issue no matter when she pushed it.
Sorry, but this is UNACCEPTABLE!
I have witnessed Med Techs giving Mom the wrong doses, not ordering refills in time and Mom has missed medications, up to a week's worth!, One time my Mom was in EXTREME back pain and walked down the hall and saw a Med Tech around 11:00pm and wanted help and this Med Tech said "GO BACK TO YOUR ROOM!"...in a VERY RUDE TONE.....didn't even notify Mom's primary care doctor because I called her PCP the next day and they said "nobody from Plantation Oaks called us". My poor mother called me at 7:00am the next morning crying hysterically telling me the story and how much pain she was still in! 3 days later my Mom ends up in the Hospital via Ambulance because of confusion but I KNOW in my heart that the STRESS from this Med Tech that night contributed to her health issue. When Mom was discharged from the Hospital (Dr. Phillips) they could not release her because there was NO NURSE on duty at Plantation Oaks (Sunday) so Mom had to stay ANOTHER DAY in the Hospital! (now WHO is paying for that??)
The Dining Room service was very slow.
Mom waited up to 45 minutes to be served and sometimes the food was cold.
Plantation Oaks has a HIGH turnaround of staff which Mom and I did NOT like. Every time I went there, there was always a new Med Tech and when I asked what happened, they replied, "oh she quit or she was fired".
Some of the Med Techs that work there should NOT be working there, period! They do NOT have the right personality, the compassion, nor the skill to deal with the Elderly. I have worked in Healthcare for almost 30 years and would NEVER have hired some of them.
Don’t be fooled by the staff's smiling faces.
I was not very fond of the New Management Team either.
(too many changes and slow responses to my questions and concerns)
My Mother had A LOT of friends there and most of them told Mom they were NOT HAPPY but have nowhere else to go. I feel so sorry for them.
Take your loved one somewhere else…….trust me!!!

My brother is at Plantation Oaks. They've been very kind in working with us, and they took my brother in the time we needed them. He has a furnished room. We're very pleased and happy with it. He likes the food.

Plantation Oaks Senior Living was great, and they were doing some renovations at the time. Everything was carpeted, and the doors were wide, which was a big plus. Mom is going to be in a shared room sharing her kitchen and bathroom, but Mom's side does not have a door of her own, just a curtain, while the other side has a door. I want Mom to have her own door, so she can have her own privacy.

I do not remember a lot about Plantation Oaks, but I know the food was good because we did eat there. The food was delicious, the people were nice, and the staff was nice. Other than that, I do not remember anything negative about it, but I don’t remember a lot about how the layout was. They were comparable to the other locations we looked at. They have the 3 meals a day, and they had the church service, Bingo, and movie nights but all of them have that, so it was comparable with the other places. They were very nice. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable, and we got the information we needed. I did not see anything negative.

Plantation Oaks offers robust amenities, and the staff is very courteous, empathetic, and accommodating. My grandmother's room is very spacious and updated -- which is very much appreciated -- and offers the comfort of home, and it's very affordable. The facility overall is dated and lacks some updating, and there are a couple of cleanliness issues overall, but nothing too severe.

I went to Plantation Oaks. It was good, but it was a little farther from downtown of what I was looking for. I think the people were great. I think they have done a nice job of rehabing what used to be an old hotel. It had a lot of nice features. The rooms were a good size. It wasn’t my first choice, but it would have been a good choice for a lot of people.

My mother’s only been in Plantation Oaks for less than a week, and I wanted to give her a little time to make sure she did OK. They were very kind, reasonably priced, and it was convenient. The room was a nice size, had its own bathroom, it was convenient to what she needed, so it’s good. They had all kinds of activities.

We ended up at Plantations Oaks, which was an absolutely wonderful place. Everybody was very caring and attentive and took time to be with the residents. It’s clean, happy, and bright. The rooms were spacious, big, clean, and updated.

I like Plantation Oaks. They have enough workers to assist the elderly that live there. They have activities so they don’t just sit around and watch television. Every time I go there, they have my mom doing something different. She seems very happy, not like the other places in which she always wanted to leave. I think the staff takes a lot of time with residents, and I like that. Their rates are not high like the rest of the places here in Orlando. I don’t have anything negative to say about them.

We actually selected Plantation Oaks senior living for my mother, but she passed away last week. Every bit of care and support we got there was fantastic from the director way down to the individual who cleans the house and does the laundry. I could not have asked for anything better for my mother -- the care, the personal touch, and the way they knew her name. They knew our names very quickly into her moving in. Their attention to details and the discussion points that they had with us when we had to switch her over from independent to assisted living, the nursing staff and the CNAs were all very informative. They reached out to us with any type of questions, concerns, considerations, and recommendations. They did not wait for us to track them down. They were very proactive, very kind, and very helpful in every aspect that we could have asked and then some. They were coming to us with things that we did not think of that we weren't prepared for, and they brought it to our attention. They not only brought it to our attention, but they gave their recommendation on how we should follow up and make sure this is done by the doctors, by the hospice, by the staff. She had a one bedroom, and the space was fantastic.

Plantation Oaks Senior Living was excellent. I liked it a lot; they were very attentive to stuff. Each person had their own private room. The rooms are really nice and spacious, and you could decorate it the way you want. I had the food there. It was good food, really nice menu options, and really tasty soups. They can improve on the activities a little, bit but other than that, they were OK on the memory care unit specifically. They have enough space, but they do go out of the facility and visit places.

We’re very happy with Plantation Oaks. The rooms are very nice. The location is a bit difficult to get in and out of because it’s in a very high traffic area in Orlando. The staff has been excellent. Dad seems to be eating very well.

They have studio and one bedroom apartments for assisted living. For independent living, they have big studios and one bedroom apartments. The staff are very knowledgeable and cordial. At the dining room they have menus like the restaurant. They have physical therapy, a big pool, a movie theater room, games, happy hour and much more.

I was at Plantation several times and everyone there was super nice. The place is clean. The people are friendly. The residents seemed happy. They have a lot of activities planned and they seemed that they actually follow through with them. They have different variety of activities.

Plantation Oaks was a very beautiful place. It's open; there are rooms for artwork, a library and a beauty parlor. It's more like a hotel. There's a long hallway with beautiful flowers looking over the highway. I was happy that mother didn't have to share a room. The staff was very accommodating.

We placed my mom in Plantation Oaks. The facility is absolutely fabulous. I feel very safe with her there. I lived about 300 miles away from her, so I don't get to see her everyday, but every time I talk to her on the phone, she is happy and loves it there. Also she got her medication monitored and have three meals a day. Though she'll need to leave her room to go down and have them. They have a menu everyday but if she doesn't want something on the menu, they are happy to make whatever she wants. She also got help bathing. She has also made a lot of friends there.
