We loved Harbor Chase of Dr. Phillips. We loved all of the amenities that they have. It's open and airy. They're creme de la creme. It's a beautiful place, like a high-end resort. It seemed like they had all the requirements. They've got a gym, physical therapy, a beauty salon, and all the things that would meet the needs of someone's assistance. It's fabulous.
All of the apartments were spacious for one individual. They had all the amenities that you're allowed to have. The person that took me around was awesome. He was very honest, caring, polite, and professional. He was very knowledgeable of all of the levels of care that they offered. He answered all our questions very openly and honestly.
The meals were outstanding. The first meal we had was salmon and it was one of the best salmon I've ever had. They have been in touch and did a follow-up. They even brought a meal to the house. It was lamb chops and they were very, very good as well. The follow-up was good and the marketing sales director lady was awesome and very polite. They were all very compassionate.

My dad has moved into HarborChase of Dr. Phillips. We chose it because it appeared to be a nice place, however, my experience with it is lacking. We had a very hard start. We sat down with the people, we went over the contract with them and we asked a lot of questions. It's assisted living, but there were days when nobody would come to get my dad for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Then we were told that we needed to order the Life Alert button, which they didn't have in stock. My dad is not able to walk, so that posts a huge problem. In the meantime, they have tried to work things out. He does have his monitor now, but I can say it was not an easy start. I was very shocked and surprised. I hate to do that to them by giving them a bad review, but I have to be honest.
It's a beautiful place. The room is beautiful. It's a really nice-looking place, but it's not up to par. My dad doesn't like the food there at all. I literally spoke to the chef myself about what's lacking in the kitchen. The one night I was there when we had dinner, my dad's dinner should have never come out of the kitchen. I think they need a new chef.
There are a lot of activities there. There's virtual bowling. There's tons of stuff to do if you have the ability to get around. Their independent living is probably very nice, however, the care level that we paid for, we really did not receive. There was a lot of complaining going on before anything was worked out. Some things had nothing to do with HarborChase. It's like 50:50 because we had trouble with documents. It really wasn't too assisted living. My dad was a brand new resident, but he was left to figure things out for himself. It's not as nice as others. It's not a bad place, but it's not the best. It's a little bit smaller, too.
