I like my mom's location at Glenbrooke at Palm Bay, particularly, because she could be transported, or if she ever gets strong enough to get to the elevator, which is very close. It's only maybe a door or two away from her in particular, so it was just by luck she got that. There is a dining area on that same floor, which is also nearby. And if she wants, she could be transported there for her meals. They do encourage her to participate in other things and not stay in her room all the time. They also have a main dining room on the first floor and you could order right off the menu, or whatever you see that you like. If you have a visitor, you could invite them in for a very nominal fee, and they could also order off the menu with them. There are also good features there. There are call buttons throughout her apartment, which is only under 600 square feet, yet it's very adequate. It has a living room, then the kitchen area is big enough that you can move around very nicely. You don't have to cook because you have three squares that you could have. Then there's her bedroom and a bath with plenty of grab bars. And if those are not enough, they will allow me to have more grab bars installed. After she's been there a while and maybe she needs another grab bar elsewhere, I could have that done. They even give you the name of a place that could come out and do that in a day quickly. There's a walk-in shower with a very small lip to maintain the water inside. They will also watch her during her bath to make sure she doesn't slip. She has transfers that she could have for going to meals or out of her bed in the morning and put back in bed. Her medications are managed. Those features I do like. The room is bright. You could see below there are always people about. And just activities daily that they post on her door so that she could take part if she wants. The staff seems to be very attentive, they give you all the attention you need. They talk to you. If you have any questions or if you need anything, like when we had a drippy faucet, they came right away and took care of it. There are people down at the front desk that are very friendly and they direct people to various things if they need help. I think what they could do better is when somebody starts their time there, they could do a little bit more like a welcome committee, just to let you know that they are happy to see you. I think that fell through the cracks and I don't know why. Because they had told me there would be somebody from the staff to greet her, but there wasn't anybody. I did not try the food because I was not hungry, but it looked good. But my mom seems to be very happy with it. I haven't seen her do any activity yet. I did hear that there was an ice cream day, and they gathered up many of the seniors who wanted to participate. I know I saw directly across from my mother's apartment, she could get downstairs and go across, that there is an activity room that they've just refashioned. It has things going on in there and they tell them about it. It's a big place. They could do arts and crafts and play certain card games or bingo or whatever. There's even those casino one-arm, the thing where you put a coin in and you pull it and you hope to get lucky. My mother would like that if she would get herself down there just to play like she's gambling. There's the pool right behind there where family members can come to visit grandma and grandpa and the kids could swim with them. At this point I would say for sure they would have gotten a five-star rating had they done a better job of welcoming. I don't know if that happens normally or if they somehow skipped that. I've been to other ones to look at them, they were so pricey that only a very wealthy person could go to this spa-like environment. Whereas this one was kind of like for average people who had worked all their lives and set aside monies and can manage their bills. It would probably be best for someone who had a good cushion to have, otherwise, it could get very expensive if you do not have your own monies to work with.

It is nice and clean. It's mostly for people that are a little bit stronger. I saw a lot of residents, and they were able to get around pretty good, but if you're not that able, I don't think it's a good place. They're in a room by themselves, and they have to go out in the dining room to eat. It's a bigger facility. The lady I talked to was like a salesperson trying to get you to sign. It's like a bunch of apartments, it's like two or three stories, and you have to ride the elevator. The dining area seemed nice.

We visited. It was the better one than the other facilities. The lady that showed us around was excellent. The dining room was very nice. They did have largest apartments than any of the places, and that’s what we were looking for.

I am extremely happy here. The apartments are beautiful, very bright, and roomy. The staff is very professional and friendly. I have not eaten there, but mom is happy with the food. They have bingo, all kinds of holiday events, and sing-alongs. It’s wonderful.

The rooms here were all clean and would meet my needs. We had lunch there, and the food was good. The woman I interacted with was friendly, and she was the only person I was with -- the sales person -- and she was very good.

I think it was a wonderful facility. It's very nicely decorated, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent. But my dad just didn't fit in there very well and he would get confused as to where his room was. They bring in musical artists every Friday afternoon, they have chair aerobics, a book club, and outings. They also have a swimming pool, a clubhouse where they do other activities, like arts and crafts, and even happy hour on Friday afternoons. They had a variety of things to do. I think they even have a Bridge club where they play cards. My mother-in-law is there.

It is fine, the apartments were beautiful, and the staff was very nice and very home-like. I am in independent living so I have my own dining room.

It was OK. We liked it too, but we have preferred the other facility. The dining room seems to be OK; we had looked at them. We had looked at the entire facility -- assisted living and independent -- it seems OK. The room sizes were a little small for the most part, but the rest of the facility seems OK.

My aunt is here. The place is very clean, bright and very light. What I like best is that the staff is excellent, honest, understanding and accommodating. We are able to work out a meal plan. Their food is good. They did the supervision of my aunt very well. She's in a two-bedroom apartment. They go out to see movies. They go out shopping. They have arts and crafts. They have sing-a-long. They have everything there.
